Guest guest
Hello, I'm visiting this group from a chemical sensitivity group that I belong to. I'm very sick, and need some advice. The last several months I spent at my daughter's apartment while I was looking for an apartment of my own that I could tolerate. It was moldy and made me sick. I finally found an apartment I think is not moldy, but my daughter continued to help me by cooking food and bringing it to me and by doing my laundry in her washer and hanging it to dry in her apartment. Increasingly my clothes were uncomfortable to me and I couldn't figure out why (silly me). Anyway, I went to her house for Thanksgiving dinner and the mold there was much worse and I got very sick from it and could no longer tolerate any of my clothes, linens, bedding, etc. (I went through this 2 years ago), so I got rid of everything and have been buying new clothes, but after a few days I could no longer tolerate them for varying reasons, sometimes because I got into my paperwork which was moldy and instantly it made the clothes I was wearing unwearable, other times I couldn't figure out why. Anyway, after spending what to me is a fortune trying to keep up with buying clothes that I could tolerate (I order on line to sick to go out) we realized that what was happening was that she was bringing in the mold when she came to deliver the food and do some housecleaning for me, so she began to change her clothes here and shower, but that still didn't help, every time she comes I have a reaction. I'm being too wordy, but for some reason I'm not able to condense this...brain fog....anyway, we are realizing that she cant be around me until she's out of her moldy apartment and her clothes are free of mold, which would really be good for her as well, as she is chemically sensitive also. I guess my question is this.....is there any way it would still be possible for her to cook food for me and drop it off at my apartment without contaminating me with mold? Does mold get killed in boiling soups, or freezing food first for instance? could she somehow wipe off the outside of the containers with something and leave it outside the door for me to pick up when she's gone? Is there anything that will kill the mold in my clothes, I've tried vinegar, borax, tea tree oil, sprayed VitalOxide in my car, don't know if that has worked yet as I've been unable to go outside....I'm presently living with no clothes and wrapping myself up in mylar blankets...I created a sleeping bag from them by taping two together. I'm in New England, and it's pretty cold here. Does anyone at all have any thoughts on my situation. Or maybe I'm all wrong, and this isn't a problem with mold, but something else in the apartment that I'm in that is causing me to deteriorate added to the mold problem. It is so difficult for me to sort these things out when I am ill. If anyone has any input or could help in any way I would so appreciate it. I hope I am making sense. Thank you so very much.
