Guest guest
Hi from Sue, BTW---there is FAT soluble as well as water soluble Vit C. And --According to the article at the bottom --- "A well designed vitamin C or multi-nutrient supplement should contain at least 25% of its vitamin C in the fat-soluble, ascorbyl palmitate form." We buy the concentrated Fat soluble Vit C "Source Naturals" brand of ascorbyl palmitate powder & it has been great for getting rid of /preventing die-off bumps/pimples along with activated charcoal and topical sulfur. ( On a personal note...Ascorbyl Palmitate , ( a powder) and FAT soluble Vitamin C is much better for us than water soluble ascorbic acid.--per muscle testing. In fact we WERE allergic to the water soluble kind until we cleared it with EFT.at http://www.emofree.com Being fat soluble.. I take the Ascorbyl Palmitate powder with my Wonderful Qmega 3s Mint chews from http://www.bodyecology.com since it needs to be mixed with oil so you don't aspirate it. ( I learned that lesson the hard way..lol) ---but you can also mix it in yogurt or peanut butter etc.. See the informative article below on the differences of Vitamin C...along with the research footnotes. Sue ---- See below for the full article.. Special Update on Fat-soluble Vitamin C Fat-soluble versus water-soluble vitaminsVitamins are either fat-soluble or water-soluble. Water-soluble vitamin C and the B complex are excreted in urine, if taken in excess. The fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, K accumulate within the fat stores of the body and within the liver. Although most animals produce their own vitamin C, humans, primates and guinea pigs have lost this ability. Since your body can't manufacture it, vitamin C must be obtained through diet and supplementation. Fat-soluble vitamin CAscorbyl palmitate is a fat-soluble form of vitamin C, which is better absorbed than ascorbic acid, the water-soluble form. It offers all the benefits of ascorbic acid, plus it won't flush out of the body as quickly as ascorbic acid, and it is able to be stored in cell membranes until the body needs it. Ascorbyl palmitate is an amphipathic molecule, which means one end is water-soluble and the other end is fat-soluble. This dual solubility allows it to permeate the extra-cellular aqueous environment of the cell and the interior cellular environment, as well. When it is incorporated into the cell membranes of human red blood cells, ascorbyl palmitate protects them from oxidative damage and also helps protect vitamin E (a fat-soluble antioxidant) from oxidation by free radicals.1 Ascorbyl Palmitate has powerful antioxidant properties, helps maintain normal connective tissue, may reduce the risk of certain cancers as well as coronary artery disease, and helps in the healing of wounds. What else does vitamin C do?Vitamin C is an important weapon in your immune system's arsenal against bacteria and viruses. It also helps protect unsaturated fatty acids from being oxidized, therefore protecting their potency. A protective vitamin essential to over-all body health, vitamin C is especially important for neutralizing free radicals. It also: helps in the production of collagen and maintenance of healthy skin and blood vessels promotes the healing of scar tissue and fractures gives strength to blood vessels helps prevent and treat the common cold promotes healthy teeth and gums helps the body utilize iron and folic acid supports the thymus gland enhances T-cell production, increasing resistance to viral and bacterial infections, and some allergies helps increase interferon levels aids in the absorption of iron and the formation of red blood cells protects blood lipids from peroxidation2 reduces the effects of some allergy-producing substances A deficiency of vitamin C may result in bleeding gums, swollen or painful joints, slow healing of wounds and fractures, the tendency to bruise or bleed in any part of the body, scurvy, and cardiovascular disease. Advantages of ascorbyl palmitateOne of the advantages of taking a nutritional supplement that contains ascorbyl palmitate and ascorbic acid is that you may require a smaller dosage because ascorbyl palmitate doesn't flush out of your system as quickly as water-soluble vitamin C. More importantly, exciting new research done on laboratory animals and in vitro indicates that ascorbyl palmitate: is a preventative against stomach cancer and colon cancer 3,4 reduces the toxic effects of acetaminophen better than ascorbic acid 5, 6,7 stimulates collagen synthesis at lower doses than ascorbic acid 8,9 is a powerful free radical scavenger 10 Most supplements contain little or no ascorbyl palmitate because it is much more expensive than regular ascorbic acid. Because both the fat-soluble and water-soluble forms of vitamin C each has unique properties, it makes sense to obtain our supplemental vitamin C from both forms. A well designed vitamin C or multi-nutrient supplement should contain at least 25% of its vitamin C in the fat-soluble, ascorbyl palmitate form. Posted by: "Christel King" christel76@... missvermont94 Mon Sep 15, 2008 2:26 pm (PDT) there would be no point in testing every brand of vit C to see if everybrand IS vit C or HOW effective it is. it's all oral vit C, same stuff, different packageing, AND they aren't hear claiming there is the best way to GET vit C. so all the studies on vit C would be valid in a case like this, so not sure how that arguement helps anyI personaly would LOVE to see the numbers of real people ON this group that have done pre and post testing. (that have not bought into the company) that is exactly the kind of real info I am wanting.....i'm not being sarcastic. I am looking for something to work better then the oral form for my son. I would love to find something but am not going to put down 95 dollars for a sticker with no glutathione ON It to raise glutathione magically....Recovering from Autism is a marathonNOT a sprint, but FULLY possible!Read more about it on my BLOGs athttp://www.myspace.com/christelkinghttp://foggyrock.com/MyPage/recoveringwisheshttp://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=677063169 CLARIFY Question/ Where are the studies?Hi from Sue, I'm sorry you missed the point of this question.. My "bad" for not explaining it better... I'll try to clarify. The point was relating to a Specific PRODUCT Tested.=(Brand) NOT the NUTRIENTS themselves..that are found in a particular product. as I'm very well aware of the ---thousands of studies on nutrients and their benefits.. having taught nutrition and science myself. For example..I know from studies That Vitamin C.. has many specific benefits . But I do not have proof (in the way of STUDIES using my particular BRAND of VIT C ---is actually VIT C or is effective . There was never a study done using this SPECIFIC BRAND of VIT C.BUT Yes..of course ---We buy most of our supplements because we know they are GENERALStudies done on the nutrients found in them...as you noted. New products and technologies always have the hardest acceptance. "All truth passes through three stages. First it is ridiculed.Second, it is violently opposed.Third, it is accepted as self evident." --Arthur Schopenhauer.Lifewave.. has provided me with more studies on their SPECIFIC Productsthan ALL the other supplements and creams and liquids I ever tried. And they were done by reputable labs... independently.I also have received feedback from those who did--- before and ----after testing of glutathione levelsbefore--- and after----wearing Yage GSH patches and it is consistent with the studies done by Great plains Labs... of people wearing the patches in the study found Published in the Hippocrates mag.. My experience with them has been exceptional for building my immunity ,too.I hope we can let this issue rest... as everyone should have to right to choosea product WITHOUT Intimidation from others who disagree--- ( many of which have never tried the patches--noless).We are all seeking the goal of recovery.. and I'm very happy to have found recoverywith LW patches as PART of my protocol. AND ---We all know what works for one may not work for another.. So we also know the patches will not be the answer for everyone...Best of health to you all --no matter what you choose,Sue ---- now off to work:)Re: Where are the studies? Posted by: " Reynolds" peteralkamy rollinreynolds Mon Sep 15, 2008 4:41 am (PDT) I don't need a specific study on vitamin C and autism to work out what vitamin C may help with. And to ignore the thousands of studies on vitamin C, just because it is not specific to autism to me seems foolish.natasa778 wrote:>> No you will not find them, .
