There's a lot of conflicting data about the benefits of cinnamon.

The

right kind of cinnamon is true cinnamon bark, the Latin name is

cinnamomum verum from India, Madagascar, and Sri Lanka. The cinnamon

oil comes from the true cinnamon. Most of the commercial cinnamon (spice) is

actually cassia, Latin name cinnamomum cassia from China. It is in the

same family but does not work as well for health purposes.

Due

to the presence of moderately toxic compounds, coumarin, European

Health Authorities recently warned against using large quantities of

cassia. Coumarin is known to cause liver and kidney damage in high

concentrations. True cinnamon has negligible amounts of coumarin.

The

essential oil has antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. Recent

research has shown that it is the cinnantannin B1 isolate that has

therapeutic value on type II diabetes.

This is not scientific data but I hope it

will give you a suggestion for further study.

1)

New research on blood sugar imbalances is coming out from Young Life

Research Clinic in Springville, UT. The latest oils they are now using

with great success are Geranium, Coriander and Dill, equal parts in

empty 00 capsules, plus Thieves applied to the feet on a regular

basis and plus the digestive enzymes of Carbozyme (2) and Detoxzyme (2)

with every meal. Always muscle test or dowse for how much and how

often.

I hope this helps.
