Currently taking:> levotyroxine 0.075 Trying to increase but gives me hyper symptoms even whe I'm still hypo. Makes me toxic.> Calcitriol: 0.50 mcg per day> Taking for 1 1/2 year: Medrol 4 mg. Gives me more energy but is ruining my blood vessels and I know it could be harmful in the long term.> Glucerna: 2 ms. per day> Hydrolizated collagen: 2 teasp. per day> 1 calcibion 600 (Ca+vit. D) per day> B complex with folic acid: 1 Tbs. per day> probiotics Enterogermina 10 bottles of 5ml per month> > Severe IBS with diarrhea. improvement.> Just fermented dairy (yogurt every day. eventually cheese) No milk, no alcohol> I eat 5 times a day> > I was first hyperthyroid and they

gave me a treatment with tapazol, the I went hypo. I don't know if I have Graves too. I just know that I haven't feel well at any stage of the treatment, even when they told me that I'm cured.> T4 is toxic so I want to add T3 but I was trying to improve my deficiencies to give my body the chance to work with the T3 without too much bad reactions.> > I

know that many of you improve with Nathurethyroid, but I can't buy it in my country. T3 neither. My doctor offers me to take the T3 when he travels, but he doesn't want to work with NDT. Anyway, I've seen some people with the same issues even on NDT, and people improving with T3. Some get better with T4. Bottom line, besides changing the hormone which could or could not lead to an improvement, what else could I do to lower the inflammation? My immune system is currently attacking my bowel, Nervous system, joints.... Besides of the evident thyroid illness, I've been diagnozed with Chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, some doctors think that I have myastenia gravis and arthritis, but antibodies for those diseases don't show. I think its all the thyroid.I know about "heal the gut". It's just that I don't know what else to do. My diet is very natural and I control it as much as I can, but I barely improve. So I can't resist the supplements (or even food) that I need to get out of the anorexia. That's why my doctor argues that the surgery is necessary. Because I'm slowly dying, and don't know what else to do.All your comments will be welcome. Thanks!Carmen To: Thyroiditis Sent: Tuesday, August 7, 2012 8:14 AM Subject: Re: new member

Hi Carmen - I haven't heard of a thyroidectomy as being a way to get rid of anti-thyroid antibodies. I have heard from people on this board and others over the years about additional problems and complications they have after having their thyroids removed. My opinion is surgery should only be a very last resort and only in cases where it's the only alternative. You might want to join thyroidectomy groups to learn what patients go through or maybe someone who has had one will chime in here.
