Guest guest
Thanks for your excellent question about the safety of essential oils. There are two classes of essential oils. I am referring to Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils. The other class is Fragrance Grade (garbage). Although chemists have successfully recreated the main constituents and fragrances of some essential oils in the laboratory, these synthetic oils lack healing benefits and may even carry risks. Why? Because essential oils contain hundreds of different chemicals, which in combination, lend important therapeutic properties to the oil. Also, many Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils contain molecules that are impossible to manufacture in the laboratory. Adulterated oils that are cut with extenders can be detrimental, causing rashes, burning, and skin irritations. Petrochemical solvents can cause allergic reactions, besides being devoid of any therapeutic effects. In their pure state, essential oils are some of the most concentrated natural extracts known, exhibiting significant and immediate antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and balancing effects. Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils when properly administered produce no harmful side effects. Unlike drugs and chemicals, they mobilize the body's own self healing powers. When selecting a Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil or Household Cleaner be sure you are working with a company you trust. There are 1-2 companies in the US that produce Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils. The capacity of essential oils to neutralize germs is irrefutable. If you'd like more information about the Antiviral and Antimicrobial Properties of Essential Oils, there is an excellent source at http://www.positivehealth.com/permit/Articles/Aromatherapy/baud55.htm.
