Guest guest
Hi , I was told I can the drop/s with or without food. How many drops are you using. I use just one so it's not bad. Maybe you can sip a bit of water or juice? Guest guest
It is really awful tasting. And whole " drop " thing is very confusing. There are big drops and there are little drops. Exactly how big a drop is equal to 2000 IUs? It is a thick consistency too. > > Hi , > > I was told I can the drop/s with or without food. How many drops are you > using. Guest guest
Yes, I too, wonder about the drops. Some ARE bigger than another. I don't find the taste bad but I've also have drank pretty nasty Chinese herbals and if I can do those, I think I can do anything. :) Liz ___________________________________ www.ojaipaintedminis.com From: rhythmicliving [mailto:rhythmicliving ] On Behalf Of Sent: Tuesday, January 15, 2008 12:12 PMTo: rhythmicliving Subject: Re: Good Vitamin D3 Supplement It is really awful tasting. Guest guest
It doesn't really matter. I take 5 drops but some days I take more. If you are getting sick taking 50,000 iUs for 3 days will clear it up. I just tried it and it worked. Guest guest
Hollis - I was actually WRONG. My doctor didn't give anything from Biotech. He gave me D3 drops (2000 mg) from Biotics Research. And THIS is what tastes so awful. It's called Bio D-Mulsion Forte. Copy and paste link below. Biotech is different I think. http://www.bioticsresearch.com/en/cms/?14 > > Biotech has a 5000IU D3 that's encapsulated. > > Hollis > > > ===================== > > Date: 2008/01/15 Tue AM 10:46:59 CST > To: rhythmicliving > Subject: Good Vitamin D3 Supplement > > > Hi all - I was wondering if any of you could advise me of a good D3 > supplement. Guest guest
I take the Biotech Emulsion Drops (two at night) and I put them under my tongue. Don't mind but the emulsion is thick. I don't know of another brand. I hope these drops works; my doctor said it can take up to a year to get the Vitamin D up to an acceptable level. I am amazed (but should not be) how many Docs don't order the Vitamin D3 test. I added it to my profile after reading in Nutrition Action newsletter how many people are deficient in it and lo and behold I was low myself. Just shows you really need to take charge of your health and educate the physician. My Doctor just sends me a blank lab slip now because he knows I will add on what I need. I have learned. My new OB-GYN, holistic Doctor is wonderful and is helping me with my hormones. We had a long talk about the WP protocol and he could have ordered it for me but thank goodness I found this website. I was very scared about the doses especially the P doses. 8000+mg every month sounds nuts to me. Thanks to all of you wonderful women for sharing all your insight. What a great way to get information and learn more and more. Barbara > > > > Hi , > > > > I was told I can the drop/s with or without food. How many drops > are you > > using. Guest guest
, Yes, it can be confusing. They ARE different companies. Really, any of the D3 that comes in capsules -- whether it's from Biotech, Pure Encapsulations, or whatever -- will get around the " ick " factor for you. Guest guest
I'm reading more and more about Vitamin D and have decided to terminate its use. I had been trying to use it for osteoporosis but may have been defeating my purpose. I've been using D for about six months and feel my bones are declining. I'm having a DEXA today. This is long and is related information to the link Madeleen posted this morning. I'm becoming more and more fearful of all the advice passed around on the health lists. First it was progesterone cream, then iodine and Vitamin D. Take the time to read this and think about it. The more I see of " alternative " medicine, the more frightened I become. http://bacteriality.com/2007/09/15/vitamind/ Val From: rhythmicliving [mailto:rhythmicliving ] On Behalf Of Yep - will do. Guest guest
Val, I've been quite frightened by much of what I've seen in conventional medicine, and I'm sure that there's much to be frightened of in alternative medicine as well. They both can do a great deal of good, and they both can do a great deal of harm. I just don't see the point of making a huge generalization about either of them. Guest guest
My point was to be careful of jumping on every new Internet craze. I am not sure I want to be treated through the lens of this website, no matter how many references there are. Taking antibiotics for everything is not a cure it’s an an additional drug burden. Guest guest
Which is why I won't take MEGA doses of ANYthing. I take 1000 iu's a day of Vit. D. My doctor told me to take 2000. Guest guest
All: I felt better (at least I thought) on Vit D-2 (Ergocalciferol, 50000u's X 1 wk)..but I noticed that I felt worse after a while...spells of numbing depression, disorientation, semi-panic attacks..I didn't put it together at first, but then noticed this happening after taking the D. So, I stopped it for a while and these " spells " stopped. I've done a little research on Vit D and parathyroid function. (You can google Dr Norman hyperparathyroid Tampa for his take on D, I also looked at Dr. Ted Friedmann's good hormone health website. These are endos that I trust in their respective fields and they both say the same thing..adding D when calcium levels are good can be problematic. My calcium levels were high/high normal..Moral of the story..listen to your body (that one keeps hitting me in the head!!!) Guest guest
All I know is that my primary doctor, my gyno and my hormone doctor all said to take more Vit D because I'm severely deficient. They prescribe things without knowing or checking into the repercussions which is why I don't believe in taking all these stupid vitamins in the first place! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I'm reading more and more about Vitamin D and have decided to > > terminate its > > > > use. Guest guest
: These very good doctors both say the same thing, if your calcium levels are good/high/high normal, you do NOT need Vit D and corresponding low levels of D are your body's way of trying to lower the extemporaneous calcium...
