Guest guest
Where is your Vit D level? Have you had 1,25 D? Val From: rhythmicliving [mailto:rhythmicliving ] On Behalf Of All I know is that my primary doctor, my gyno and my hormone doctor all said to take more Vit D because I'm severely deficient. They prescribe things without knowing or checking into the repercussions which is why I don't believe in taking all these stupid vitamins in the first place! Guest guest
I am a pretty big fan of Vitamin D and if you plug that into Pub Med there are a ton of studies on it. I think Vitamin D is an immune system regulator. I agree that super large amounts probably are not great but the body makes 10,000 IU from just sitting out in the sun. My whole family has been tested (25OHD) and were very low. I just got my results back and I am at 90 so I will probably cut back a small amount. I was taking 5800 IU per day and would tan about 8 min once a week. I can not tell you the difference it has made and basically my ovaries are working quite well because of it. On the whole I think most people are quite deficient. I saw an endo in NYC that specializes in Vit D/calcium and has done a couple of NIH studies and I feel very comfortable keeping those levels at about 75- 85.
