Guest guest
Ginny, No strategy for us in this. Just dumb luck that they did the pre-testing. I had no idea what was going on that time. I thought the lab, that ended up being a co-defendant, actually knew what they were doing. Their first " post testing " when they cleared the house and told us it was safe for reoccupancy...was taken about 6 inches inside the garage with the door open. No testing even done in the house when they told us it was safe. They couldn't find any chain of custody. I just happened to be home when they did this so called clearance testing, but the tester did not know it. I came around the corner to see where they were taking the test for the inside count. Still did not understand just how corrupt this was. I also went to the deposition of the woman who supposedly did the testing. She could not remember anything about it. Not surprised. The woman in depo was not the same woman I saw doing the tests. It was a test done 3 days after they told us it was safe to go home (with a child with cystic fibrosis), that I made them come back and take, that told the tale - because my daughter was coughing a lot and we were all having trouble breathing a bit. Showed high airborne mold spore counts, much higher than when those professional idiots first walked in our door. We got the real test results on Jan 6, 2002. Moved out that day and was never able to go home again. And , thank you for your kind words. Wish I could say that I just do this because I like to help other people. But that is simply not the case. The problem is, I like to sleep at night when my head hits the pillow. I don't think I could do that while knowing I had the capability to make a difference to a problem that is devastating so many, if I just turned a blind eye and walked away. Bawh! Guest guest
Ginny, Funny about your Catholic school education and becoming sharks who can swim with sharks. I have always felt that having a Catholic school experience as a young child causes one to question things. I remember being about 9 years old and thinking, " Okay, now let me get this straight: If I eat meat on Friday, I am going straight to Hell, but if my non-Catholic friends eat meat on Friday, nothing happens to them? " It kind of makes you learn at an early age that everything someone in authority tells you may not always be correct or founded in sound logic. You have to figure things out yourself. I thank God, I got such a good basic education that has " carried me through life, " despite spending a good portion in " detention. " And helped us develop good instincts, I think. When I was first put in the moldy room, I knew something was wrong by the way they handled everything. When I would hang photographs of the 7 Wonders of the World and they got " damp and curled " I took out my camera to " record " it. Your " luck " served you well. The " testers " would come into my classroom and tell me it was " fine " but they were testing for CO2 and not for mycotoxins. When I think back, I get enraged that what they " tested around " the problem. But, thank God, " collectively " we have learned, from these experiences and have " gotten them out there. " If there were no Internet, things would have been much worse. > > Ginny, > > No strategy for us in this. Just dumb luck that they did the pre-testing. > I had no idea what was going on that time. Guest guest
Having our Catholic faith and our Church has been invaluable-we couldn't continue on with this battle if we didn't have God with us. Especially Catholic school it has been a safe haven for our girls through all of this nightmare. Guest guest
can we please keep what types or faith we have to ourselfs? it has nothing to do with the topics here. even people of little faith can be sharkly if they have a heart and care. theres good and bad in all faiths, people. > > > > > > > Sharon - > > > > Catholic school make us like sharks...and able to " swim with the sharks " > > like we must now. Guest guest
- That is in large part, very true. I have spent many years " vested " in education and spent 10 years on a Catholic school Advisory Board, keeping it " open " after 12 years in that School System. I did get a " spartan " education back in the day when there were 50-60 kids in the class. If you can survive and learn in that environment, you can take on the " bullies " that are " out there " looking to beat us all back, in my opinion. In high school, Latin was a requirement at the time. 4 years. So the term " ubiquitous " (as in mold) when thrown " at " me, did not " throw me. " I simply gave them the old adage of " ubi, " meaning " everywhere " in Latin. The old joke. Semper Ubi Sub Ubi. (That one is for Sharon.!) > > Having our Catholic faith and our Church has been invaluable-we couldn't > continue on with this battle if we didn't have God with us. Guest guest
There are a number of posts coming in about religion that are not going to be put through to group since there are too many personal differences we need to respect. > > - > > That is in large part, very true.
