Hi Courage,

Sure I'm still fine for a gathering. When will it be?

Hi Courage, and all other friends at LBD caregivers

Sorry I've been a little out of touch.

I went to Toronto and was there for the entire month of August.

It was great to see Dad and I spent a lot of time with him. His

cognitive functions seem to have improved (thanks to Exelon, we think!)

but his movements are a lot worse. He had 4 falls in one month, one of

which necessitated an ambulance trip to the ER where they kept us the

whole night, but thankfully nothing was broken: just a really big bump

and a huge bruise. We followed up after two weeks with further x-rays

and ultrasound and it was just a hematoma.

I will post again soon, with details of my findings regarding his

retirement home situation and also the various specialist visits.

For now, I'm just writing to let you know that unfortunately I will not

be around for the informal gathering in Toronto (I'm already back in

Italy!), but my sister would love to attend (work schedule permitting).

So please, let us know if the gathering will happen and I will inform

my sister about it.

I am sorry I didn't write from Toronto but we had just moved to a new

house and we were not connected to the internet until mid-August, and

then I got too busy with Dad and other numerous errands.

But I will write again soon with a full report.

Thank you,

Shomy.

HI Doris,

How about the 3rd or last week of September? If you know any other Toronto

members who are on no mail can you contact them and let me know?

Thanks,

Courage

Shomy,

It is good to hear from you and seems like you had good trip to Canada and your

seeing your Dad.

Bet it feels good to be back home. A month is a long time.

Take care.

Hi Courage,

I don't know anyone else's contact information. There is a support

group meeting this week at the Alzheimer's offices, so I can mention it

but it might be better if I had an exact date and place. So why don't

you just decide on a time and place that is good for you and the rest of

us can plan to be there or not. Let me know what you think.

So far the end of September is okay. My sister is getting possession of

her new house on the 26th and I will be helping her move, but I don't

know what day(s) are involved. So just let me know what you decide and

I'll plan around our gathering.

Take care. And thanks for initiating this. Doris

,

I think of you so often and wonder how you do it all. I had just my mom here and

only for 10 months. I thought I was going to lose it a few times. I can only

imagine with both parents at home how hard it must be. Do you have help? How

about siblings? You are a wonder to me. I will keep you in my prayers.

, I am very sorry to hear about your father. You sound strong, are

obviously

doing something right caring for you as well as both parents. My thoughts are

with you

during this difficult time. I hope somehow you can make it to the Toronto get

together. I

would if I could but I can't.

Hi all,

Heard from Corry and here are a few dates to consider:

Let's try for Monday Sept. 22 at 1pm or Weds. Sept. 24, 1pm.

(If those dates don't end up working then I'ld suggest sometime during the

second week in October).

(for forwarding)

Our address is:

24 Phoebe street (near Queen & Spadina, and we're in a row of townhouses)

* Phoebe street runs east from Spadina and is two short blocks north of

Queen street.

Tel.

* Because of all of the one way streets in the area, it's tricky to get to

and to find parking.

* There's metered parking on the sides streets you'll pass such as Grange,

Sullivan or on Huron street.

* The best route is to go:

- south on BEVERLY from DUNDAS

- turn right at the first street you come to (GRANGE str.)

- turn left on HURON (drive two blocks towards the corner of PHOEBE str.,

near our house)

Thanks,

Corry.

Please let me know if this works for you and pass this information around to

other Toronto members.

Thanks,

Courage

Re: Re: Toronto Meeting

Hi Doris,

Yes, that will be the address we will be meeting at. I was hoping to hear from

more people but so far no. I should send the info to Shomy directly too now

that I think about it.

Best,

Courage

Re: Toronto Meeting

Hi Courage,

Either of those dates and times is fine with me. Will we be meeting at

the address that is in this message? Thanks Doris
