Guest guest
Audrey, We have had some great experience with SI. Both boys were facially/orally hypersensitive, low muscle tone, short attention span, tactile defensive and very unrelated. We did the brushing and compressions every 2-3 hours when we could and It really helped ( we still go back to that routine when they need it). We see a private SI therapist and the OT at school. I make sure they coordiate the treatment so as not to miss anything and to give the boys the best opportunity. I especially see a difference this year!! ( they are 4years old and have made the biggest jump both cognitively and physically. THey still have a long way to go but, I am so hopeful. I feel it is an importaint part of any Devel Delayed child ( esp- Chargers) to help them understand their bodies and the imput they get from the outside world. It makes the cues they receive a little clearer. BUT, nothing alone with change our childrens lives 100%. I feel it is a combination of all that we do that makes a difference! The most importaint gift we give our children is unconditional love!!! Love, Jill
