Guest guest
There is an emerging field called telemedicine that promises to bring access to specialists and specialized medical procedures to geographically dissimilar places. This can be done via high-speed networks. Using telemedicine, it is already possible for a soldier in a military hospital in Iraq to receive care from a surgeon in the US, for example. The field uses an array of technology from the simplest telephony to advanced robotics. Telemedicine has the potential, within a few years, of lowering medical costs by increasing competition. Using telemedicine, one specialist can see patients in geographically distant places. It seems that telemedicine may have potential in helping mold illness victims see specialists quickly and affordably. Thoughts?
