Guest guest
Did she just begin these sleeping problems or has she always had them? When she wakes up at night, does she go back to sleep or do you have to stay up with her? Kristy Subject: Sleeping Problems To: MosaicDS Date: Thursday, December 4, 2008, 8:36 AM I recently made our granddaughter (3 years old) a weighted blanket, 10% of her body weight. So far, it has not made a difference in her waking at night. Has anyone out there ever used big pillows on each side of their child while sleeping? I thought perhaps this might make her feel secure and she might feel as though she is sandwiched between her parents in their bed? Any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated as we will try anything. Thanks.
Guest guest
When you mention sleeping problems, what do you mean? My 13 month old will not sleep alone for more than 30 minutes. He wakes during his naps and at night. I have never had one sleep so little. Sometimes, he will not even take a nap until 2:00 in the afternoon and then he will wake after 30 minutes (I know he has to be exhausted). The only time he will sleep for any length of time is if he is strapped into his carseat. We are still trying to find out if he has MDS. We are supposed to go to a geneticist in Jan in Bham. I am also taking him to a gastro interologist to be checked for bad acid reflux. I thought this might be causing him to NOT sleep. Just wondering what ya'll mean by sleeping problems... Guest guest
This has been going on for about a year and a half. I believe it started when she switched from the crib to the toddler bed because she was crawling out of the crib and her parents did not want her to get hurt. She will go back into her bed if you rock her for a while but then it starts all over so her parents don't even bother anymore because at some point, you just gotta get some sleep. She naps on the floor on a pillow with her mother beside her and then when she gets off to sleep, mom gets up. She naps only for about half an hour after beginning her day around 6:00 or earlier. There is a little brother who is 8 months old and in a crib so you would think she would stay in her bed also. Thanks for your input. Guest guest
We have two blankets that were crochetted for that we place on each side of him when we lay him down. It seems to comfort him while he is trying to fall asleep. I roll them up like the old-fashioned bolsters. By midnight he is sleeping wherever he wants but it seems to do the trick for falling asleep. He also likes a very LIGHT weighted blanket over his face just as he is layed down(almost like a hankie). He rubbs it on his face until he falls asleep. It kept him from rubbing his ears so much (before he had tubes put in last month). This is just a consideration but when my 3 year old, , had problems sleeping we found that putting a little radio playing soft music helped him to fall asleep. Our inside house walls are so thin he could hear his daddy in the front room talking and he would fight sleep in order to not miss anything.
