Guest guest
Okay, I had to share this with everyone.? Karlee touches everyone she sees.? So, a friend sent me this video and I thought I would share it with you guys.? http://www.stservicemovie.com/ Beets, (mommy to Karlee, mds 9 and Eli 4) Re: Found some new devise for sensory issues helping in speech Sue, I had my gallbladder out two years nearly to the day after Hannah was born....will be praying for you and hope it can last and wait until December. mine they could never find 'stones' or 'sludge' etc.. so everytime I had a flare up bad enough to send me to the ER they would run the standard test and since i was still having symptoms and pain they scheduled the surgery in April 2002. surgery went well, I was sent home after the anesthesia wore off (I wish I could have stayed over night and I could have I found out later!!) be preparred.. they did not warn me of this but right after I woke up and they had me sit up and try to eat and drink.. (dry toast and gingerale) then they came back in to stand me up and try to 'walk me' before I could get dressed..I threw up! >GROSS ALERT<...green bile and ALLOT of it! not a problem and the nurse was already reaching for a basin and I thought how dod she know.. she said " I never took care of a gallbladder patient that did not throw up after surgery " ! so this must be common. they deemed my gallbladder as 'infected' and irritated was why it kept acting up. my whole family minus my one sister all had ours out. so wondering if it is not hereditary? and two of us happened shortly after our last child was born.. my one sister suffers form Kidney stones regularly as well. add diabetes to the mix..... need to research this more.... talk to you soon and good lulck with school and the gallbladder surgery. keep me posted! ~Holly~ Found some new devise for sensory issues helping in speech Hi all, I am sorry I have not been very involved lately. I try to read everything to keep in the loop but I do not always have to to answer. Things have been quite hectic around here with me back in school. Welcome to all of the new families. I have found out a few things this week though. Isabella's OT suggested this hearing devise for her. No she does not have any trouble with hearing it is to help with balance. She has a special set of head phone that allow her to hear the outside world while listing to cds. These cd have songs and I guess use different frequency of high and low pitches. Some how this is to help with the balance if they have sensory issues. What we have found it seems to be helping her with speech. This week after a few sessions with the head set on she started even putting 2 words together. She said " all done " and " TV on " and Bye Dad " . She has also become a little chatter box using words that she only knows, but that is okay I just pretend I know what she is saying. The word mommy has been very consistent and she uses it all of the time. I am hoping the words stay this time. I do not understand fully how this devise can work but it really does seem to be helping in all areas and Isabella loves it. You only use it for 5 to 30 minutes a day and must be doing an activity while she has it on. You can not have the TV on while it is on they suggested I take her to the park with them or out in the back yard to play. I just wanted to pass this info on. Also if you guys could please say a little prayer for me. I need to have my gallbladder out and I am trying to push it off until December when school lets out. I just really can not afford to miss school. It has been very difficult going back after this many years of being out.
