Guest guest
Jill, please go to _www.biotoxin.info_ (http://www.biotoxin.info) for information that may helpful. From what you have said it sounds like you could have been exposed to some form of toxin. Depending on where you live in PA there is an excellent Dr. in land just below Salisbury. Dr. Shoemaker has been treating me for 5 yrs. after an exposure to mold in my school made me VERY sick. Take the VCS test on his website. It is inexpensive, 98% accurate and you get your results the moment you finish. You can read all about how the test works then just follow the directions carefully to take the test. If you are toxic it shows up in the optic nerve of the eye that's why this vision screening works. Understand that it is only an initial screening. Just the first part of the puzzle. If you have any other questions just send me a message. I'll also be happy to talk to you on the phone, Sue >>> Hi everyone! My name is Jill and I live in pennsylvania. I was told to join your group in hopes of getting some help on getting better.I just need to know what doctor to go to, even if I have to travel across the country, if he can help me, nowhere is too far!!! Guest guest
Jill, So sorry to hear what you are dealing with. Have you ever tried Nizoral anti-fungal nasal spray? It sometimes helps with the headaches and vision problems. Sharon In a message dated 4/17/2009 12:46:30 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time, greenwatergrl@... writes: Hi everyone! It all started 8 years ago in orlando florida. I lived in a condo and it got flooded. It was so bad that the second floor came in to our ceiling!! It was all due to the upstairs neighbor leaving his sneakers in his dryer, which overheated and caused a fire which burst the waterheater. They said it was safe to move back into the unit after about a month of them( so called cleaning it up), so i moved back in.After 2 years of living there I kept getting headaches all the time. I called the health department and they came out to the condo, they hooked devices up to the the walls and in their words said " get the hell out of here " !!!! I did, but unfortunatly it wasnt soon enough:( I have had headaches for 8 years straight. I have eye pain just from reading one page in a book. I have eye pain from going on the computer for one second. I cant drive at night because the lights kill my eyes. I cant go into a mall because the overwhelming smells make my head hurt so bad. Candles, perfumes, FORGET ABOUT IT!!!! I feel handicapped and I desperatly need the right doctor to diagnose me!!I have seen neurologists, and I got lasik surgery done, I got my wisdom teeth pulled ,all at the cost of my own pockets, hoping it would cure my pain:( I have got m r i and catscans. No medicine helps. The only thing that gave me relief from my headaches and eye pain was when I went to get my eyes checked and they put those numb drops in them!!That whole day I felt totally fine!!!!I am not even able to write you this post, luckily enough for me, im blessed with a twin sister who is typing this right now.The doctors I have seen said everything from neuralgia( even though my pain is on both sides of my face), peripheral neuritis, to A typical facial pain which means there is no cause or cure. None of my doctors connected my symptoms to living in a toxic enviroment for years. After all, the health department told me those walls were filled with water 2 years later and to get out!!!. Lastly, it seems like all my senses are working on overdrive. My eyes hurt to do anything. my sense of smell is so strong i cant go anywhere. my sense of feeling on my skin is super sensitive too. Just touching my finger to my nose, it feels like touching raw nerves!! I have a feeling all of this stems from my mold exposure!! Guest guest
Hi Jill, Oh my you have been and are going through an ordeal! -I am so very sorry that this has happened to you, there are wonderful people on this forum, you have come to the right place. I too became very ill from mold and I had horrendous headaches that kept me in bed in the dark for 95% of the time. I was also hypersensitive to light and so they diagnosed me with Migraines-they were actually classic mold headaches-I didn't know that then. I also developed severe chemical sensitivity-candles,perfume,soaps pretty much anything until I ended up housebound for 6 mths so I can understand and emphatize with what you are going through, believe me.I still have a hard time with grocery stores, perfume any household cleaners. The first question would be ,have you gotten rid of everything you had in your moldy condo? Unfortunately in order to start the process of getting well you have to-it sounds drastic, but every day you are around those contaminated items-you are re-exposing yourself and getting sicker. There are various trains of thought on keeping wood items, but honestly as hard as it is we got rid of everything. I saw numerous doctors, even mold doctors, the best place I found was Dr Lieberman in SC, he basically " detoxed " my whole family. There are other physicians too in MD and TX and other places around the country who know about Mold Illness and how severely ill you can be from the mycotoxins which are the toxins producaed by the mold. You have to find the right doctor for you. As I said there are wonderful people on this forum with way more knowledge than I, I can only tell you my story and experience. Guest guest
Do a search on ocular sarcoidosis. Sarcoidosis is a systemic granulomatous disease of unknown etiology, though mold exposure has been suspected as one cause. Most patients also have other problems, particularly respiratory, but not all. I had a friend several years ago whose thirteen year old son was otherwise healthy, but slowly going blind. The fifth doctor they visited suggested this possibility, and suggested a steroid injection directly into the eye. It brought almost immediate improvement, and most importantly led to a course of treatment and eventual resolution of the problem. Short term oral prednisone might be of help if you can get a doctor to prescribe it. can someone please help me!!! Guest guest
-Jill, you know your diagnosis, you have been exposed and poisoned by mold. You can go to a number of Drs, go to MD to see Shoemaker. But all the same you need to take Cholestrymine to help reduce the toxin load, and I am sorry to say, you may have to live out of doors for up to a year to recover. Others may object to this therapy, but without it you may never recover. And as I have seem over the years, the disease up-regulates, and you end up in a tent in the desert ,like me anyway. So please-go for total mold avoidence, read the book " Mold Warriors " , and leanto love the outside. -- In , " greenwatergrl " <greenwatergrl@...> wrote: > > Hi everyone! Guest guest
Jill, you are not that far away from Dr. Shoemaker if you live in PA. He is the best and could probably help you improve, Please go to his website wwww.biotoxin.info and read all you can then take the VCS test!!!! You are one of the lucky ones that live near land and could make the trip to see him. Don't delay just take the test, you have nothing to lose but about $15. Sue Do a search on ocular sarcoidosis. Guest guest
Hi Jill, I agree with Sue, Dr. Shoemaker is probably the right guy to help you out. I am sick due to excessive mold exposure from my place of employment. It took me almost a year to find the right doctor. I've been a patient of his for about eight months and I feel much better than I have in a long time. But I'd like to let you know that during one of my visits with him he did mention a doctor that works with his protocol in town NJ. Dr. e Gedroic you might want to check out her website www.gedroicfamilypractice.com Bonnie
