Guest guest
Hi there, I am a new member. I am 34 yrs. old and have been diagnosed with mild bronchiectasis. I have seen 3 doctors, all who have given me different opinions regarding treatment. One doctor said he could actually cure my bronchiectasis by giving me 2-3 years of rotating antibiotics (10 days out of each month) and tapered Prednisone. Another doctor suggested starting me on Zithromax (500 mg) every MWF for 3-4 months. Finally, another doctor said not to take anything and just to take antibiotics when I have exacerbations. Obviously, I'm confused about this rare disease and what treatment I should take. Has anyone been through any of these regimens, and if so, has it been successful? Is there anyone out there who has actually been cured from bronchiectasis? Finally, how long before one usually develops antibiotic resistance? I'd appreciate any input you could give on any of these questions. Thanks, Cassie Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo! Search.
