Guest guest
--- With all the discussion this week about non-amylose diet I think it was mentioned that corn was allowed, according to this we need to stay away from corn because of mold toxins.I thought rice was allowed until this week. May I ask all of you on this diet and the mold diet, where do you all get your fiber and carbohydrates from for energy? D In , <brianc8452@...> wrote: > > Here is another good article. Guest guest
Yeast and fungus (Y/F) are single-celled forms of plant life. ________________________________ From: dianebolton52 <dianebolton@...> Sent: Monday, April 20, 2009 10:52:36 AM Subject: [] Re: Article on Mycotoxins--peanuts, corn, vitamins, health effects --- : What does Y/F stand for?? Guest guest
Perhaps the corn industry should go into the " energy business " and should fuel our cars instead of our bodies. Brazil has done this with sugar and has eliminated its dependency on foreign oil (you don't see them at war) and pollution. They put it in their cars. And at the equivalent of a dollar a gallon. Recently there was a " run " on Coke produced " Kosher " for Passover. The company replaces the high fructose corn syrup with real cane sugar (or a sugar beet sugar, I think) and there were articles about how people are looking for an alternative. I doubt that all the corn in the silos is kept fungus-free. And a " certain amount " of fungus is deemed " acceptable " - I don't think so. It is too bad because pop corn is a great source of fiber. And, delicious. But like soy, the respective industries have lobbied their way onto every table in America. And, in almost every single product, whether it is makeup (soy) or crackers. It's in there. > > > > Here is another good article. It's a long one but here are a few excerpts: > > > > **************************** > > Peanuts contain 26 different carcinogenic fungi! As well, broken and ground nuts of any kind must be avoided because they are ready targets for airborne spores and quickly become rancid. About 35 years ago there occurred in Africa clusters of patients with an unusual type of liver cancer, and the numbers were very large. Investigation revealed a relationship to the consumption of peanuts and showed that peanuts contain the fungus Aspergillus flavus and its mycotoxin, aflatoxin. Research has also shown that aflatoxin can produce liver cancer. Like peanuts, corn is poisonous and carcinogenic, containing 25 mycotoxin-producting fung! (See Table 2 in Appendix F.) > > In our opinion, there is no specimen of corn in the world that is free of mycotoxins. Don't say it too loud, though, because corn is grown all over the world, and growers are major players in financial circles. Researchers have reported the positive correlation of corn (and wheat flour) consumption and death from cancer of the esophagus. Corn has also been positively associated with gastric cancer. > > > > > > http://www.dreddyclinic.com/diet/alcaline/sick_and_tierd.htm
