I don't like it hot but I do love the sun and am very much affected on gloomy days. I even have a lamp that is supposed to help offset the effects of a gloomy day that I use a lot in the winter. From November to February or March we have a lot of gloomy days in Michigan. Next time it's gloomy I'll try to remember the good side...for someone it's a perfect day. Guest guest
A big warm welcome Carol Ann. Others have probably told you that our very own Dr. has that in his blog. He is on this List. I am the caregiver for my newly diagnosed elderly aunt. I have found that during the winter months I go through the blues also. Recently, I noticed my aunt has been " down " more often since the time changed. I love the sunlight and getting out walking around outside. There is new research regarding light therapy. Wish I knew where we could go to get this.(Besides the outdoors!) Carol Ann **************Get movies delivered to your mailbox. Guest guest
Darling what is your name again please. I have a good memory, it's just short. I'll be sure to put it in my address book this time. Song request, oh goody! I haven't typed my list yet, and I'll be sure to put yours on it. And how about Kay Sara? (is that it?) I sing loud. They always say if you can't sing it good then sing it loud. I used to sing near opera, ( Lanza) So it was loud. Now I can't reach the high notes anymore, so I just belt it out in a deep voice. I am going to have fun. Thanks for the song suggestions. I sang Somewhere over the Rainbow to my kids a cajillion times. I don't know the other song you asked me to sing. But, I'll type it in and maybe someone else knows it, or it may be in the song books they use. Just remember that you've had a lot of bad advice from well meaning but ignorant health professionals, family and friends over the years and this is just another one of those things you have to ignore. If the current setup is the best possible thing for you and Don, just ignore the people that don't know or understand what they're talking about. As for song requests, please do a raucous round of Somewhere Over the Rainbow for me, my sunshine loving dad and my rainy day loving mom. I loved the group singalongs when my dad was in the NH because no one cared how loud or bad I was. **************You Rock! Guest guest
Hey, I'm in a hugging mood, so I am giving you one also Carol Ann, Welcome to the List. The people here are the greatest. I have already gotten so much information just reading some of the messages. I had never heard of the different types of dementia until this past week. My aunt has always been so strong and " in charge " . That may be the worst part for her, just learning to depend on others for so much.(and losing her freedoms) Did your mother live with you once she was diagnosed? My aunt tells me everyday about the " people " that came to her house the night before. That was a big issue for us; we thought she was sleepwalking or possibly dreaming. It makes me sad, but also grateful to know what it actually is. Thanks for listening and for the reply. Carol Ann **************You Rock!
