Guest guest
Isobel I have a similar patient, with similar pathology and medication. Often ED is multicausal so you need to explore all aspects to build up a good multidimensional prescription. Call me if you wish ......0 Janette erectile dysfunction Hello all, I've got a 70 year old patient coming next week who's erectile problems have been on the increase since a heart attack and DMII medications over the last 5 years. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of history? Obviously I don't have details until he comes, but I thought there might be specific herbs to think about etc. Would Serenoa and Withania be appropriate? Thanks, Isobel
Guest guest
Has he had a cholesterol check as often the cause is deposits have blocked the tiny vessels so preventing an erection. Unfortunately blood pressure meds often have this problem as a side effect as does warfarin so often these poor gentlemen have everything against them. Guest guest
Dear Isobel Saw your email re erectile dysfunction - a diffusa is a great tonic - Hedley once told us at Westminster that he put a bit of a into every prescription because even if people didn't get better they felt better and then came back to you! He always used it for stressed businessmen who couldn't cope. In larger doses it is certainly quite aphrodisiac in its qualities - simply because it makes you feel so good. Mills and Bone " Herbal Safety " does not report any warnings/interactions or precautions and states its traditional uses as " depression, anxiety (particularly due to sexual factors), sexual inadequacy, nervous dyspepsia and constipation " . It had similar uses in traditional Mexican medicine. Hope this helps Ann
