Guest guest
Thank you so much, . Mom and Dad are 89 and 91 respectively. Their home is a very nice old n and the bathroom downstairs was an add-on, so your advice is right on. I will give this to my Son, who does their carpentry/sundry work. I mentioned it to him by phone tonight. Mom and Dad agreed, too, that they may have to replace the water heater and pipes. We'll certainly investigate. That's not the worst of their problems. They once in a while get water in their basement: MOLD! I can't go down there. About 2 years ago, my parents decided to begin to clean it out. Right afterwards, they were both ill. Dad had a series of strokes and now must use a walker. Just a few weeks ago, Mom went back down to clean out some papers, etc. She wound up so ill that I thought we were going to lose her. The day after her attack, she went for blood tests and her liver enzymes were 228 and just under 300. Well, they still don't believe it's the mold. Fortunately, she's recovering, but sleeping a lot. It's such a shame because at their ages, they were in better shape than I am. A decade ago, I wanted them to have testing done down there. I've asked them to get professional cleaners, but they resist. Maybe now they will. I'm so grateful to still have them. They're the most wonderful parents in the world.
