Guest guest
On this theme -re mentioning your own products, and in response to the specific request I have had lots of discussions around nasal polyps in context of our herbal snuff. Our snuff was originally developed for sinusitis - but those of you who know the story will know it has turned out to have allsorts of applications. The snuffs are marshmallow root based mixed between four to six other powders plus essential oils. I haven't personally treated nasal polyps, but judging from the feedback many, many herbalists have. This was the issue Ness and I were asked about most. We talked about developing a polyp snuff with oak bark /blood root etc... But as the discussion evolved we began to think that astringenging as hard as you can isn't necessarily the best or at least the first strategy. Infact the tissue needs soothing and nourishing - one herbalist mentioned her patient also suffered from interstitial cystitis - and this seemed to make sense on a tissue level. So we would suggest starting with snuff number one - our most gentle and soothing blend - and then continuing from there. Details of all the ingredients are on website below. And obviously I can send you some. - It is a funny position having your own products - especially if you think there great! We did plan to set up evidence feedback systems on the website -but the momentum for this got lost in all the legal uncertainties.. Re legalities - we are thinking as per Max's e-mail going ahead- and -be -damned -but more of this another time. For now there is pre-April legal stock. best wishes, son BSc(hons) MNIMH@...www.herbalbarge.co.ukwww.herbalsnuff.co.uk07736966197 Re: powdered blood root or suggestions for nasal polyps Many thanks to all who replied to my query/ request. It can sometimes be very helpful to purchase a ready made product, especially from another herbalist. Especially if the herbs involved are not ones we may not usually hold stock of. I had not thought of asking for a small amount - thank you for that idea Anne. Warmest thoughts to all
Guest guest
Hello , Yes I also realised the issue about having something soothing in the mixture. The route I went was to include glycerine it creates a nice soothing film, holds the stuff in place and acts as a brilliant preservative! It's also non toxic, hygroscopic what more can I say?Blessings,Lorraine Lorraine Hodgkinson MRCHMHERBS AND HELPERS6, Butts Fold, Cockermouth,Cumbria, CA13 9HY. Guest guest
Really,? Damn, thank you for that. .I am hoping to get some more free samples out to practitioners so they can work with patients to try them, but have been caught up in other projects. Am on the case with this, sorry... I think all available strategies are good - it really depends allot on which one the patient is able to get on with - and maintain regularly. Compliance is going to be key here.. son BSc(hones) MINIM@...www.herbalbarge.co.ukwww.herbalsnuff.co.uk07736966197 Re: powdered blood root or suggestions for nasal polyps/herbal snuff Dear Thank you. Very interesting. Now I have a dilemma! Snuff or spray :0)I think I will speak to the patient first. I am seeing her tomorrow. It's worth mentioning that I went to your snuff site on Friday and tried to use the contact form but it wouldn't send so I tried emailing you but the mail was returned with permanent fatal errors. Guest guest
Yes it was the compliance issue that forced my hand to develop a more user friendly way ... Sniffing raw herbs seemed a bit foreign to most.Lorraine Hodgkinson MRCHMHERBS AND HELPERS6, Butts Fold, Cockermouth,Cumbria, CA13 9HY.
