I enjoyed reading your writing while you were walking.

I look forward to reading what you write now.

Hello again everyone and thanks for supporting this group. I know a lot of you expected things from me a bit sooner than this, but better late than never.

Hi Steve,

Nice to meet you and be a part of your group. I just bookmarked your web site and will spend more time reading it later. I was particularly interested in your book list. In the long ago and far away (meaning my youth) I was an English major and have a degree in English Lit with a minor in creative writing, so I have both read and appreciate many of those books and would like to read some of the others. (then I hit the real world and got my RN and have worked as a nurse ever since lol) This past year I became a Reiki Level II practioner and am once again drawn to developing the spiritual side of my nature, a theme in many of the books you have listed I see.

I think your accomplishment was monumental and I am sure I will enjoy getting to know your site and reading your articles as they come out. As an English major though, I will offer honest opinions if that is what you want!

I am also delighted to find that America on the Move site and am excited about my walk along the Pacific Crest, which is a drive I have always wanted to take and intend to one day!

Fascinating how we travel similar paths, Janet. I too, have a degree in English from the long ago and far away, and then, years later, became a registered nurse.

I think that Steve has a good mind and expresses himself quite well. The travels and keeping a journal have gone far in developing a natural talent. Someone I knew who worked with college bound kids in finding and developing hidden skills and abilities said that people who have special gifts which they do not utilize tend to be frustrated and unfulfilled. I have thought, over and over of that, while following Steve's travels. There are abilities which he has always had which he is now utilizing. I have great hopes for his future.

This group is full of interesting, thoughtful people who are on various journeys, physicel, intellectual and spiritual. There were many, some time back, who would get unhappy when people got off topic (the topic being exercise and fitness). Some of us always knew that this journey was about much more. Glad you have become one of us, Janet.

Janet, this is a very unique group. I think the reasons we came together and stayed together is that we are all individuals, who have our own views, and speak them. And we respect each other a great deal. We accept that we are all individuals with a lot in common and still maintain our own individuality.

, I am getting that impression and delighted to hear it! It's great to have people you can interact with on this DIFFICULT journey.

I just had my first weigh in since New Years Day (I weigh in on Fridays) and I have lost two pounds. That is the first time the scale has moved in that THAT direction since before the holidays started! lol
