Guest guest
Hello again everyone and thanks for supporting this group. I know a lot of you expected things from me a bit sooner than this, but better late than never. Believe me when I tell you that my life since the end of the walk has taken quite a bit of getting used to. On some days I feel like giving up the giving up and just going back to the way things were. Then other days something amazing happens, life advances just a little more and I regain my faith that deconstructing the old me is the only way to the new me. I've made great strides in this transition period, my eating habits are under control and I've maintained most of my weight loss since the end out the walk. Right now I'm currently floating around 330 lbs, down from a start of 410 and that's wonderful considering how difficult things have been for me this past year and a half. It's been much harder than the walk itself. But the work continues and a huge part of that is changing careers. So far I've been less than successful in that regard because of a lack of confidence. The good thing is that I'm not managing anymore but that means I'm not making any real money either. I have been using my time more wisely (I hope) and focusing on the things that will help me in my new career. One of those things is writing and that is the reason for this post. I need your opinions. I've been working on a column for a local magazine. If I can get them to like the idea and the writing, it would be a huge boost for me both in confidence and financially. I want to start posting the columns to my website and invite people to comment about what they think. I hope you will give it a shot. If this column is successful I hope to expand it to another walking / traveling adventure; sort of a travel and spirituality column. Like you may remember, I have come to understand that to truly change you life, which is required for permanent weight loss, you must change your outlook. In this column I want to explore many things, but primarily, what people do to find happiness in their own lives. So, to begin I'm just going to randomly post some of the things I've written. I'm posting them in no particular order because it's not the flow that I want your opinion on right now. Instead, it's the content, writing, and what the piece made you feel, if anything. Any help will be greatly appreciated. PS: Those that still want to be nasty or just spew hate, I delete without reading. I have time for negative people. If you don't like something about the article then please be honest and tell me what it is, but if you are just looking to hate, don't bother.
