Guest guest
In response to the speech survey. Adam has had some major speech delays. He is now six and at this point his speech is progressing. He can repeat anything you tell him, but forming his own thoughts into words is coming very slowly. Just a couple of days ago, he asked me " Where's mommy? " That was a major thing for him. He has never asked a question before. He is able to express wants and needs for example, " Want juice " " Go bye bye " " No No NO " . All of this verbalization has come within the last year or so. Before that time, he would only repeat things we said. If we asked a question he would only repeat the question. He still does that sometimes. It is not that he doesn't understand the question, it just seems he has trouble putting his thoughts into words. If he needs to get some thought out quickly and can't, he will just start screaming and throwing a big fit. I am sure he is very frustrated to have all these thoughts in his head that he can't express. Donna
