Update on My Family

Thanks for the nice welcome. Here is a little information about us for

all the readers on the group.

My daughter, Hadley, is about 7 months old. She was just diagnosed this

week with MDS. It was a very big shock to both me and her father as she

is almost 7 months old and this is the first we have heard of any issues.

She does have a VSD (hole in the heart) but that is being watched closely

by our wonderful pediatric cardiologist. We live in Atlanta and have an

older son (3 1/2yrs old). He loves his baby sister. It is really very

cute.

My husband and I are both very eager to learn everything we can. What

steps to take? Who to call for what? What to expect? Lots of open

questions. We are going to a geneticist next week to get more medical

information, but as of now we are not sure what we should be doing.

Therefore, I have joined this group in hopes that there is more

information out there on MDS than at first it appeared. So far the site

has been wonderful. I look forward to sharing all the stories of all these

wonderful children with you.
