Guest guest
Congratulations! We all have days we'd rather not exercise, but exercise our will to do it anyway. However, don't let yourself burn out. You may need to do some alternative exercise a day or two a week, or you may need some more tae bo workouts to increase the variety. Guest guest
Hi , Welcome and join the club of bronch patients being treated badly by their doctors. I have had similar experiences, finally found a great pulmonary doctor only to find she is leaving her practice. I too use Spireva, it seems that is is the best for me. I look forward to your input. Guest guest
I'm not sure this will go to right place. I uploaded it under new topic. Now I can't find it. anyway here goes. sorry if i'm enterupting. Hi Group: My name is john wise, Tacoma Washington. I’m 64 years old, smoked for 45 years, but quit over 3 ½ years ago. I have moderate emphysema and bronchiectasis. My FEV 1 is 63 %. I hope you can help when it comes to the bronchiectasis part. First of all, how do you keep from punching some Drs. In the nose? All the pulmonary specialists I’ve seen so far really don’t seem to care about me. I think I ticked them all off when I went for a second opinion about a spot that showed up on my lung on a CT scan. The first Dr. said that it was probably a scar. It was the probably that got me worried. It is about a 12 cm abnormality. Anyway, the Drs. I went to after that treated me… very rude…Arrogant. The last one told me basically that I was only to answer his direct questions, didn’t allow me to ask any questions of my own., and accused me shopping around for Drs. JUST WANTED TO GET THAT OFF MY CHEST The most important thing for me right now is reducing the amount of lung infections I get. I seem to get the within a day or two after I’ve gotten some exercise or I’m really stresses out. I’ve felt pretty good for last couple of months, but I now have one. I’ve been taking Spiriva, Advair, and Singulair. I do albuteral with a nebulizer at least once a day. Thank you for listening Subject: Re: refluxTo: bronchiectasis Date: Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 10:03 AM Hi Joy, Good to hear you are taking the right steps. I also cook my own food but do on occasion (like any normal person) indulge in those juicy drive thru burgers. ;~) Another tip to keep those acidic juices down is to elevate the top of your bed 4 inches or so. I bought 2 by 4 blocks, books will do as well and place them under the two legs at the head of my bed. Key is to stack 4 inches high. Stacking pillows doesn't work. Bending straight from the waist to pick something up can cause distress and a leakage of acids into the esophagus. These have been my experiences. I've had acid reflux for more than 20 years. Tender tum here. The over the counter meds like Prilosec work for many. Stay well and happy, Nan Re: reflux Hi ,Thx for the tips....but as I mentioned, I’m used to not having late meals, certainly never have large meals, and aware of this when I used to to more manual work, in the garden etc. This is sort of a new development. ...eeeek! As if I need another right now!Went to doc today, and cos of so much other stuff, and the bollocks going on w/ Comm Health, I forgot about it.... Oh, well, it hasn’t been as bad – seems to help if I cook my own food – onions garlic and chillies being main ingredients! - no problems!I’ve been drinking herbal tea in evening instead of water, seems to stay down better.....C heers, joy
