Hi HelenIa she concerned about vegetable gelatine too? Perhaps she should take it neat.Mohi To: "ukherbal-list " <ukherbal-list > Sent: Friday, 2 March 2012, 14:56 Subject: fish oil

Does anyone know of supplier of fish oil capsules that don't contain gelatin? My patient is taking Seven Seas f.o. capsules which apparently are gelatin-free (can't find out what they contain from their website), but they are too low in EPA and DHA. He has ulcerative colitis. ThanksHelen

I mean gelatine used in non-animal soft gel capsules? If you ask the supplier of the soft gel capsules they will tell you what type they are using.Mohi To: ukherbal-list Sent: Friday, 2 March 2012, 15:47 Subject: Re: fish oil

Helen,You can simply increase the number of caps/dose to meet the desired dose EPA, DHA, or get liquid fish oil such as the 300ml bottles from Healthspan. Robbins

Those are a possibility, thank you. The patient is Muslim, which I suppose means there could be an issue with glycerine too unless it states veg glycerine. Helen To:

Helen,Do ask your patient. Many Musilms will even take tincture as medicine. They don't automatically shun bovine gelatine caps, again if as medicine. Robbins
