Speakers to include · Etheridge PhD MCPP Etheridge is an experienced Medical Herbalist (Phytotherapist) with extensive experience as a herbal practitioner, researcher and writer. He is also one of Britain’s foremost Integrated Cancer Specialists with his own dedicated cancer consultancy, www.integratedcancerhealthcare.co.uk. will be providing 2 presentations over both days covering breast and prostate cancers specifically. He will give the benefit of his experience of herbal treatment and the supporting research. · Afifah Hamilton Cert Phyt, MNIMH, ITEC Afifa Hamilton is an experienced herbalist whose attention recently turned towards gaining a better understanding of metabolism, and this has significantly altered her approach. In the past decade the pace of research in this field has increased markedly, and herbalists are now in a position to adjust their advice in line with this powerful new understanding (and it isn’t through supplements!). Using this important knowledge she has successfully treated many patients including a 15 year old newly diagnosed type1 diabetic who is now causing her consultant to scratch her head in wonder! On three occasions Afifah has been invited to present her work to doctors at her local hospital, where she attends weekly GP training sessions. She wants to share this new information with her herbalist colleagues, so that they can make even greater improvements to their patients’ health. Afifa’s talk will be Metabolic Dysfunction - a new look at common conditions and how to readily improve things through diet. The emphasis will be on obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, endocrinology, neurology, dementia, and cancer. · Delphine Sayre MNIMH Delphine Sayre runs a private practice from home. Delphine regularly teaches herbal medicine and complementary medicine to medical students as part of a compulsory module at Sheffield University and runs WEA courses and other teaching events for adults on herbal medicine. For the last 8 years she has been working for Cavendish Cancer Care, a charity offering free complementary therapy treatment to patients with cancer and their 'carers'/loved ones. Her presentation will describe the history and work of Cavendish Cancer Care, a pioneering charity that offers free complementary therapy treatment to cancer patients and their carers. The Centre is independent of but works closely with NHS services, helping to enhance care of patients and seeing over a 1,000 new patients each year. Delphine will outline how the Centre operates, what our achievements are and how this is being researched. Delphine will describe her work there as a herbalist, nutritional consultant, counsellor and assessor. · Nadia Brydon MNIMH. Dip Phyt. MRCHM. Dip Ac. MAR. MBRCP Nadia has been involved in Complementary and Alternative Medicine for over 20 years. She currently runs a private Herbal Medicine and natural health practice offering one to one consultations in London. In addition she runs classes, one day seminars and evening tutorials on detoxification, juicing, sprouting, raw food prep demos and how to live a healthy life. Her presentation will focus on juicing for patients affected by cancer. For the last 4 years Nadia has worked part time as Senior Therapist for The London Haven. The London Haven is a charity offering free support, education and Complementary Therapies Nadia Brydon, has been involved in Complementary and Alternative Medicine for over 20 to anyone affected by breast cancer. Nadia has qualifications in Western Herbal Medicine, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Bowen Therapy, Iridology, Vodder Lymph Drainage Massage, sports injuries and Ayurvedic Massage Therapy. She has travelled, lived or studied in over 40 countries world wide in search of the definitive answer to the nature of disease and most importantly the nature of Health.
