Health Benefits of Manuka Essential Oil

The health benefits of Manuka Essential Oil can be attributed to its properties like anti dandruff, antidote to insect bites and stings, anti bacterial, anti fungal, anti inflammatory, anti histaminic, anti allergenic. cicatrisant, cytophylactic, deodorant and nervous relaxant.

Manuka is one of the youngest entries in the book of aromatherapy, as its uses in aromatherapy are discovered quite recently. But its medicinal uses were known since long among the original inhabitants of New Zealand, to which this tree is a native. The scientific name of Manuka is Leptospermum Scoparium and its essential oil is sometimes more priced over the Australian Tea Tree oil, due to its varied medicinal uses. Its essential oil is derived from the leaves of Manuka through steam distillation and the main components of this oil are caryophyllene, geraniol, pinene, humulene, linalol and leptospermone. There is a strange thing about this oil. The concentration of the components in this oil vary with the height in which tree grows from whose leaves it was extracted.

We certainly need not scale those altitudes to know about its medicinal properties. Just have a look at the list given below instead.

Anti Dandruff: You are tired of using those costly anti dandruff shampoos and oils and still they come back. Dandruffs are caused by lack of moisture and oil in the scalp, degeneration of the scalp skin and infections. Manuka Oil can help you with all the three causes. This news can make the companies producing the so called anti dandruff shampoos and buy all the oil from the market. So, grab your bottle before it is too late.

Antidote to insect bites and stings: In case of an insect bite or a venomous sting, just apply this oil on the affected spot and you will find that it will reduce pain and swelling in the spot and the situation will not go worse.
