Guest guest
I am the grandparent of an 8 month old CHaRgE r - she is wonderful, beautiful and doing quite well, after heart surgery and an angiplasty. The CHARGE line and words of encouragement have been very helpful and provided us with much valuable information. Question: Catrina is hypotonic and we have heard of " creatin " which may help to improve muscles and muscle tone. Has anyone heard of this, used it or have any suggestions. Guest guest
Barbara, I have heard of it, a couple of guys I know that work out use it and say it is great. They tell me it is natural, but I'd really check it thoroughly with her doctor first. Let us know how it goes. Guest guest
Be careful with those olestra products. It's fine to have a serving or too, but they aren't kidding that you will have restroom problems if you eat too many! If you eat olestra products often, make sure you take a multivitamin the next morning. Olestra blocks some vitamins from being absorbed but the research I have read says that if you take a vitamin 8 hours after eating them but not less than 4 hours before, the olestra won't affect it.... in other words, take a vitamin in the morning and don't eat olestra products until noon. Personally, I avoid them because I'm nervous that the research will turn up something awful about them, however, on occassion I have had a handful here and there. Everything in moderation.... Guest guest
I second that, about Wow! and other Olestra products. I got the worst stomach ache of my life a few years ago when they first came out on the market. I even only ate one serving, but I woke up at one in the morning thinking I had food poisoning, no lie! It took me a while to figure out it was the Wow! chips I ate earlier in the evening. Maybe not everyone is as sensitive as me, but be careful with these products! I don't touch them anymore after that experience! Amyzan > > Think so. But I thought I heard that 16 Pringles > > Right Crisps (which are not fat free - just reduced) > > are 2. And, proof positive that every metabolism is different. I get this same reaction from somthing sweet (add to that dizziness and nausea), but I've been known to sit down with a BAG of WOW and not have a problem (it was Superbowl Sunday, and everyone ELSE at chips like crazy - it was nice to join them). Anyway, I eat Olestra products almost daily, and while I do keep them well away from my medications and vitamins (due to the absorbtion issues), I've never had any gastrointestinal problems from them - no cramps, no running to the bathroom, and no other difficulties. My sister-in-law lost her gallbladder a few years back, and she has to stay with the baked chips - the WOWs give her the runs. So - as I said - every metabolism is different. I wouldn't rule them out until you try a small portion, though - they are too much of a lifesaver at parties, barbeques, and superbowls <g>. -Crys- 171.4 / 152.4 / 137 Lost 19.0 since 11/2/01, lost 10% on 2/16/02 I'm not saying there was nothing wrong; I didn't think you'd ever get tired of me. Guest guest
Janet, Six weeks is usually the norm.. it's takes that long for the T4 to build up in the tissues..... Some docs/insurance companies weight for 8.... but if you are feeling that an increase is needed by your symptoms, I would push to test at 6 weeks. I would think your credibility would be stronger if you were so set up your appointment now making the comment that your symptoms are still very noticeable and that you would like to set up an appointment at this time for your 6 week follow up to be sure that you would be able to get an appointment. IMHO... Topper () On Tue, 23 Sep 2003 22:36:42 -0000 " whitecap89 " writes: > I've been on Synthroid and Cytomel now for about 4 weeks. Guest guest
Hi Janet Did your PA tell you when to return for testing? I'm thinking that about 6 wks, but, of course, you can retest any time YOU want to. Some have us retesting at 3 months or so, but you just started your regimen, so the 3-6 wks seems like a pretty good time. We'd have to have the labs and reference ranges, as you probably already know, but it sounds like there's a possibility that the T3 might be a little high. Labwise, you'll only know at that time. Symptomwise, you may already know. Nothing wrong with splitting your T3 a little more. I know I've been poo-pooed for playing around with mine without the testing, but it looks like that's the only way that I'm going to feel better----and learning a bunch in the process. Guest guest
Just curious. I agree that Bill Cosby has good points to say. And don't all jump on me at once here. But why is this posted here on a fibromyalgia site? I thought the purpose here was to share things that in some way are connected to fibromyalgia and helpful to those trying to deal with it. Does this mean that we can get into the Great Bush Vs. Kerry Debate too? If yes I'm ready.... While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general. 2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better. Have a nice day everyone. Guest guest
is it possible to flatten your stomach after having a c-section using teo bo, or gym for that matter. does anyone has experience with this? I've had 3 c-sections and taebo was the only thing that got my abs back in shape. My lower abs were very very weak and taebo, especially the abs and glutes workout, really helped strengthen them. Guest guest
Do you know who Jillianne (sp) is in the tae bo vids? In the newer vids she stands behind to the left. She has FABULOUS abs and had two cesarean births. Guest guest
I have observed that women who have had a child and have great abs look different from women who have not had a child and their abs look great. I know cesarean births add a whole 'nother dimension. I had vaginal births and I feel pretty discouraged with my abs. It is something to get used to our bodies after giving birth. Peace Tyra Re: a question yeah i think i know who your talking about and yeah she defenetly does, but i wonder if she was fit beforehand. its just bothers me that the top of my stomach is slowly flattening out however the bottom part the "pouch" is still there. i dont know we will see." Guest guest
She's there Ron. I don't think she ever left. However, it may not mean anything. I so hope not for your sake. However, I do expect her to come back with a different name, story to share, and email addie, depending on how sick and desperate she is to stalk you. You know we are all here for you and not for her. > > Is she still there again ? > > > > > a question > > > If is off listed should she still appear in the list of members? > > > > > > > >
