Mother Nature's Message

Dear little children, please gather 'round.

Bring you a pillow and come and sit down.

Listen well Dears, be quiet and still.

Give all your attention please if you will.

I once gave people a beautful Earth,

To be enjoyed, cherished and loved from their birth.

Majestic mountains that reached to the sky,

With lush and green valleys for the butterfly.

I gave them air that was fresh, clean and clear,

And it dizzied the head of each mountaineer.

I gave them clear oceans, lakes, seas and streams,

And in them reflections would glisten and gleam.

I gave people soil so rich, pure and fertile,

I gave it with love to show my goodwill.

I gave them the seed of love and of peace,

With hopes that these feelings would greatly increase.

But little children, I'm counting on you,

To refresh the Earth as the mountain dew.

I'm counting on you to end the pollution,

And lovingly work to find the solution.

Mother Nature has been so wonderfully good to us by providing us with everything we need to live in comfort. She has given us good soil to grow all our food in. She has given us fresh rain to water that food and to clean our bodies and to quench our thirst. She has given us golden sunshine to warm us and to coax the sprouting seedlings from her soil. She has given us snow-covered mountain slopes for our sporting enjoyment, just as she gave us the glistening lakes for our pleasures too.

I'm sure she is very saddened at all the oil from ships she sees in her sea. She feels awfully bad about the chemicals that people put into her sweet soil and it hurts her to see her clear air so terribly polluted. Mother Nature is counting on you, the children who will one day be grown-up, to make her Earth as beautiful and pure as it once was in the beginning.
