Guest guest
Ali uses eye drops for her ears. The name of what she uses is Vasocidin (Sulfacetamide Sodium Prednisolone Sodium Phosphate) Opthalmic Solution. She only uses this when her ears are draining. We don't use them daily. Hope this helps. Scio, Oregon
Guest guest
Amy, It's not my CHARGEr that has ear infections but my daughter (who will be 21 next week). She had her first ear infection at the age of 10 days old, constant ear infections from then til they put the tubes in at 1 year (back then they would do tubes til the kids were ayear old and is prooly part of her hearing loss). she is now on her 13th set of PE tubes. I had never heard of the ear drops til she was about 7 or 8 and an ENT Rx'd them.. she uses them daily to prevent infections (doesn't always work but the sure are fewer since she's used them), they also help to keep her tubes from plugging up by keeping the crud not so thick ( the crud in her ears is so thick and sticky that it will plug her tubes in just a few days, commonly called a glue ear). For the life of me I can't remember the actual name (she hasn't lived here in two years) but they were a cortisporin eye drop. I'll ask her the name next time I talk to her. Guest guest
, It depends on the infection which eye drop we use. Mostly just tobramycin because an eye drop is more gentle then ear drops. We use these becasue she no longer has ear drums, just open to the middle ear. This is good because she always rejected PE tubes just weeks after placement. She's been open about 3 years now. Her eustachian tube doesn't work and she gets many infections. She also gets fluid build up in there. We don't " flush " but have her suctioned. She has lots of wax, mucus and sometimes polyps. We used to have to hold her down. Now she holds my hand and plugs her nose. She says it only hurts a little but feels like they are going to suck her eyes out her ears. Shell' do it as long as she plugs her nose. Well, whatever as long as she does it. Bonnie Bonnie
