Guest guest
Hi, welcome Bobbi! Congrats on your wonderful loss! Very inspiring!!! That sounds like an excellent snack. I must admit though that veggies are the hardest for me. I'm not a veggie fan, but I have printed this out and put in my notebook for a try sometime. I try one new veggie a week. Green beans have never been my favorite, but doctored up like this it sounds very good. Lyn new to the group I'm new to your group and am learning my way around. I've been OP for 3 weeks and love the program and I've lost 8lbs. I have a good salad, veggie, or snack. Combine a can of green beans with a can of flavored diced tomatoes, add salt and pepper, chill and enjoy. I used Italian flavor diced tomatoes with the beans and my husband had thirds. It's quick, easy and I don't think it's any points. Looking forward to knowing all of you and learning a lot. Bobbie

A day after you! We must keep in touch! I haven't had a baby in almost 6 years and am nervous as well, but my husband and I want a baby of our own very badly and I can't wait! Let's stick together! Together we can get thru this! Hey, if we get it done at the same time, we can get the discount! Lets think about that one too! (I'm in Michigan) I had the same procedure as you and would also like to hear from anybody who has had the same thing done and is pregnant! Guest guest
Hi Tara, Welcome to the group. I am also new to the group. The people here are very supportive and kind. I think you will also find this group very useful for many reasons. But as for the weight, I am having the same problems.I have a goiter in my neck. I either stay the same or I gain. Nomatter what type of diet I'm on or nomatter how much I exercise. Sometimes it gets kind of depressing for me becouse its like my husband wants his old (slim) wife back, but for some reason, I just cant get back to my old size. I even thought about taking these pills called stacker, but then I found out it has ephedra in it, and from what I heard, ephedra is kindve dangerous. So I know exactly how you feel. Hang in there, hopefully it will get better, W. New To The Group Hello I am new to the group my name is Tara and I am from Indiana. I am 25 have two children 3 and 9 and twin surrogate sons soon to be 1 on the 20th. I have been battling weight loss for three yearsL I have all the signs of having a hypothyroid accept high cholesterol. Recently since I started having two female cycles in one month and lots of pain my doc did blood work he drew a TSH which the level ended up being low 0.236 he then did a free T4 and Iron. The free T4 was 1.5 and my Iron was low so they put me on 325mg of Iron once twice a day. He has diagnosed me with Hyperthyroid. He claims I can have all the signs of hypo and still be hyper this to me doesn’t sound right. He says he won’t treat me with medicine till 4-6 weeks when I have another blood draw. The past few months I have been able to maintain weight which is at 206 and I am 5’4 but as soon as I start exercising I gain a tonL no matter what diet I try or workout routine I do even if it is every day I cant loose I gainL I am so depressed and I pretty much have given up hope. I have no health insurance it is to expensive cause we are self employed. I just want to feel better and get rid of some of this depressing blubberL any insight would be grateful. Are there any tests that are better than others that I can have him draw? I just don’t see how I can have all the signs of being hypo but yet be hyper Thanks for any help Tara
Guest guest
Whatever this BC pill is, does it have estrogen in it? I will guarantee you that, if it does, it can put a major block on your thyroid hormone. Find out what your tests are before they are run. Don't just obliviously take for granted what your doc says. It's good that you had antibodies testing, but you need to find out what that means and also LOOK at your own labs. RE: New To The Group > Tara, > > I don't know what tests he did to confirm my Hashi's, but all I know is that they did a whole complete battery of tests. Walked into his office for a check-up (2 weeks check up, since I was still adjusting to the meds), and he told me I had Hashi's, and something about the antibodies in my test. > > The birth control I'm on is the Nuvaring. You might want to ask about it and see if it would work for you. I've been on it for 3 months, and I've been doing great, with no reactions as of yet. Of course, my thyroid is enlarged, so I'm not sure what that's all about. Hopefully, it's not the Nuvaring, it has no iron/iodine in it... > > I feel like screaming, sometimes... I'm so frustrated with this stupid disease. Seems like it's always something. > > Tara

Guest guest
Greetings, My name is Janice. I live just outside of Dallas. My father is an LBD patient. He lives in Chicago and was diagnosed a year ago. We count it a blessing that this condition had not dramatically changed our family's routine. However, my sister who lives with him is beginning to notice changes in his behavior. These changes are very similar to the ones he exhibited when he was originally diagnosed a year ago. I often feel helpless as I listen to my sister share her experiences. This is all very new to us. My Dad celebrated his 68th birthday on yesterday. Until recently, he's been the picture of health. He is a cancer survivor - in remission for over a year. We thought once we got him over that hurdle we'd be okay. LBD is beginning to change that. So here I trying to do my part to from TX. My role is to gather as much information as I can so we can make sound decisions moving forward. Many of your posts have provided me with valuable insight into LBD. Thank you and God Bless. Guest guest
Janice: Welcome to a group that no one wants to belong to for the reason they do, but one that should be very helpful to you with all the information you can get from it. I hope you can share it with your sister and maybe even get her online, too. Did your father have surgery for his cancer, and if he did, was he under anesthetic for a long time? Did his problems appear after that, or worsen if he already had them. Many have reported that the LO either develops LBD or gets worse after anesthetic, but there are no scientific studies that I know of. will be sending you a big list of things to read, among them bad meds for those with LBD. Where near Dallas do you live? My sister and her daughter and their families live in Carrollton. There are others in the Dallas area that are on the list, too. I don't know if there are any support groups closeby, but if so, it probably would be helpful for you to join if you can. Again, welcome, and hope you'll get lots of answers. Be sure to ask questions as much as you want, as someone will have had experience and have an answer for you. June, husband Darrell dx'd AD 1999; possible LBD 2006; died Nov. 2006, autopsy showed both AD and LBD and possible stroke. Guest guest
Hi Janice, Welcome. I live outside of Dallas about 1 mile south of Fate. I am also a member of the LBD caringspouses yahoo group and there are a lot of people on the combined groups from Dallas. On caringspouses it was mentioned that there are enough from the DFW area to start a support group. My problem is that I do not go anywhere except maybe a medical appt without my husband. So I do not feel free to attend much less start one. I have been thinking I could collect the information of people interested in attending meetings and therefore help with organizing. Anything like that I can do from home. Lorraine husband, Bob, 57, diagnosed with PD and has many LBD symptoms/behaviors > > Greetings, > > My name is Janice. I live just outside of Dallas.
