Guest guest
I am not a member of a gym so I do all of my exercises at home. I have dumbbells (5,8,10 lbs), a 20 lbs barbell with the wavy handle, an adjustable weight bench and a treadmill. I like all of the exercises except Hamstring exercises. I do not like the standing leg curl because I do not feel the burn. I do not like squats because they are uncomfortable and not fun to me. What other manual exercises can I do to strengthen hamstrings?
Guest guest
Hi Angel, Here are a couple exercises you can try: 1) Using a chair with wheels (office chair), maneuver yourself around the room with your feet (in a forward direction). Pulling yourself from the heel will hit that hamstring like you would not believe! 2) Using an exercise ball and lying on your back, place both feet on the ball. Simply move your pelvis towards the ceiling, being sure to keep the force on your feet. The muscles in your hamstrings should get a shock out of these. Also, if you aren't feeling a burn him your hamstring curls, perhaps you should increase your number of reps or the weight. ~ Angel Winters wrote: I am not a member of a gym so I do all of my exercises at home. Guest guest
I did consider that. I tried it once but my lower back began to ache. Did that mean I did not execute the move properly, or just need more strength in my back? Take into consideration, I am a beginner so I am not physically fit. Guest guest
I understand me and my wife are doing this challange together and the first 12 weeks I made sure I was home to help with every workout with the wieghts. I do understand that these sometime so not feel good. But a few things to consider. 1 please do not use too much wieght. I am sure you dont use much on leg curls yet either my wife only uses 10-15lb bumdbells worked up to that.. 2 use good form do not arch your back and do not change angle of your back in the middle of your rep. 3 be sure to get full range of motion. Again not all exercies work for everybody try to find the one that work best for you. Hamstring Exercises I am not a member of a gym so I do all of my exercises at home.
