Beware anyone who uses a mobile phone to communicate with any FB groups! FB has

made some change which disallows mobile phone users to access FB groups, this

has been going on since abou midnite EDT. Don't be surprised if other FB

accesses become affected later, as this appears to be an obvious campaign to

disenfranchise as many of us mobile phone users as possible!

It wouldn't seem to be in FB's best interest to disenfranchise mobile

phone users, as that is a rapidly growing segment of the market that

represents FB's present and future bread-and-butter.

I think something else may be going on here. If the impact is as great

as claimed, there will probably be some news articles about the issue in

the morning.

Most folks don't realize how easy it is for unscrupulous hackers to hijack one's

mobile electronics. With data mining, hackers can get just enough information

about targeted users to spoof their carriers into account changes and denial of

service. The mobile device industry has spent much less time assuring security

and privacy on these devices than it has in assuring advertisers and folks who

make money off the number of eyeballs viewing ads than most users realize.

This is why professionals relying on privacy and confidentiality have not

adopted wireless services as a significant means of communicating with their

patients and clients. If you haven't noticed it already, just run a check to see

how many professionals have given up land lines or the FAX process for secure

and private communication with their clients and one another. Having both secure

means of communicating increased my business costs--but not to a significant

extent--before I retired and sold some of my consulting business's cost centers.

There are hidden costs to some conveniences and the use of social media that

many of us who've embraced certain kinds of social media uncritically haven't

realized until we're bitten on the bottom by them.
