Guest guest
Hi Trudy,I often come across a misdiagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome when in fact the problem is in the neck vertebra or at the thoracic outlet (the symptoms can be very similar). So I routinely seek an opinion of an osteopath, who can usually fix it. If the problem happens at night, experimenting with different pillows can help. Does she type a lot? Or any other repetitive activity?Hope it helps To: ukherbal-list Sent: Friday, 9 March 2012, 16:50 Subject: Carpel Tunnel syndrome Dear all Any top tips for CarpelTunnel Syndrome? Guest guest
Yes, if you think of the dermatomal nerve distribution, many symptoms mimicking localised wrist/hand/ginger pain is indeed nerve compression at cervical or thoracic vertebrae. Chiropractic or osteopathic help invaluable. Guest guest
Thanks No she doesn't type - she is a P/T carer - loves gardening. She has had a view from a chiropracter...but I do find osteopaths work differently so I can suggest it. I have tried kineseotape which can give relief but not this time...frustrating but sometimes the way it goes. I think she would go for an operation accept the success rate is low.. Thanks - it all helps! Trudy -- Carpel Tunnel syndrome Dear all Any top tips for CarpelTunnel Syndrome? Pt is mid forties, female and scarily healthy.
