Guest guest
Hello ,Wrong continent I know, but Aviva Romm, president of the American Herbalists Guild, was a midwife before becoming a herbalist and is now a Harvard trained MD. She has written a book on herbal medicine for women (sorry, cannot remember title) and used to run a (correspondence?) course on women's herbal medicine. best wishes,Guy Waddell Greetings all,I have had an enquiry from a student of midwifery in Wales wanting to make contact with any current or ex-midwives now practising HM. The student wants to incorporate HM, possibly to train and qualify, and would like to discuss the professional use of herbal drugs with experienced midwives. And suggestions? Please contact me off list if you can help or can suggest midwifery colleagues who might. Thanks RobbinsMedical Herbalist Ross-on-Wye --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- " Almost anything you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it " M Ghandi
Guest guest
Not exactly what you asked for but herbalist Rayment http://www.welcomeworldcafe.com has taught midwives wanting to learn about herbal medicine and has lots of connections in that field. She might be able to help. best wishes Greetings all,I have had an enquiry from a student of midwifery in Wales wanting to make contact with any current or ex-midwives now practising HM. Guest guest
I can recommend getting in touch with Tiran who is an experienced midwife and lecturer and now combines this with complimentary therapies. has set up a company called Expectancy that offers complimentary therapies to pregnant ladies as well as offering teaching courses to various Drs, Dolahs, Midwifes, and other therapists on the use of various therapies in pregnancy. I went on a course a while ago which was excellent, although it did concentrate mainly on reflexology and homeopathy and just touched on herbs. The web address is www.expectancy.co.uk Ginny Kemp BMedSc (Hons) BSc (Hons) MNIMH MCPP Registered Herbal Practitioner. Guest guest
Hello Helen Stapleton in Sheffield (I think) is an independent midwife and used to be a NIMH member (think she's retired as a herbalist). also we have number of health visitors on this form - e.g. Alison Morton. Therese Hickland - I know she's health visitor and SRN but have a feeling she may be a midwife as well. Then if you go to Ireland, you'll find Carole Guyett - not a midwife but as a herbalist specialises in treating pregnant women/families. best wishes
