Guest guest
If I said anything politically incorect I apologize I always chime in to early before I have read all of the comments. Subject: RE: Gov. Palin & son Trig STOP! To: MosaicDS Date: Saturday, September 6, 2008, 8:20 PM I am just checking my email and seeing all the messages on this. I saw the first one that Tina wrote and she was not making a political statement. She was saying how the magazine used inappropriate language when talking about a person with Down syndrome. (Thank you Tina, we will send them our statement and hope to educate them) My mother always taught me to never talk about politics, religion or sex in mixed company. The reason for this is because in a large group not everyone will see eye to eye. WE ARE A FAMILY! We are here to love each other and support each other and share information with each other. If we begin stating our opinions on this political race that is in America (keep in mind that not everyone here is from America) then we will break up our strong bond as a family that we have grown here. It is fine to talk about Gov. Palin and her baby Trig when talking about advocacy and Down syndrome. But, when it comes to talking about your political views, I worry that we will get into a very heated discussion and we will lose site of why our support group is here-----FOR SUPPORT! I have good news for you though! If you enjoy heated debates on this race, a group of parents of children with Down syndrome are talking A LOT on this egroup designed especially for this! (I advise you get daily digest or sit at your computer all day long and filter email! LOL) The link for that is http://groups. yahoo.com/ group/DownSyndro me_Political_ InfoExchange Thank you all for understanding the importance of keeping your opinions about this race off this list. This is the only way to keep our family together! Guest guest
oooops, my bad ~ sorry I don't post all too often and when I do, jinkies, lookie what I did! LoL didn't want to cause an avalanche, just making a comment about an observation hope you are all well, by the way have had a very long summer with my husband and I seperating and 'working' out custody, visitation, child support, etc. AND on a lighter note, a few days ago I was on my way around town doing errands. I was at a stop light and someone was honking their horn. I usually ignore honks cause I never really think to consider they were doing it for me. Anyways, this gentleman continued to honk and finally rolled his window down. He asked me what why my MDS magnet was about because he never seen one. I quickly told him to go our website and all sorts of info was there. The light turned green and we waved to one another. Hope he took my advice. Hugs to you all and take care.
