Guest guest
I may have told this story, but I'll do it again. :-) Around 40 years ago, when I was newly married, we went to visit my grandfather. He was a hoot. :-) At that time, there was a lot of pot busts. We were watching the news, which was covering another raid by police on pot farms. Grandpa started fussing about that bad stuff. My husband, turned and asked Grandpa, if he knew what it was? Yeah, it's that stuff that makes you crazy. said, Grandpa it's hemp. Grandpa said, there's nothing wrong with that. I used to smoke it when I was a boy. Different views and different knowledge. Grandpa died a year later and he was 92. Smoked home made cigarettes all of his life and a pipe. Guest guest
http://www.houseparent.net/information/Hemp.htmHemp contains less than 1 percent of the active ingredient THC, the substance that gives pot smokers a high. Marijuana plants, on the other hand, contain 10 to 20 percent THC.Marijuana plants and hemp plants have different appearances and are harvested differently. Marijuana plants tend to be short and bushy, while hemp plants can have stalks that are 25 feet high! This is the controversy here, if I have some marijuana plants growing and they start growing hemp across the street or nearby the hemp can and will pollinate with the marijuana plants and destroy the THC and make it so that the marijuana plants wont be good anymore. If they legalize hemp that is fine but do it far away from someone's medical marijuana plants.People do not know this, most people I speak with have no clue. How I found out about this was through Greg, he was traveling across country and found a big field of hemp plants and while the farmer was watching what Greg was doing, he picked it, let it dry out on the dash board of the car and smoke it, it did nothing at all, very disappointing. That was hemp, because if it was marijuana the farmer would have shot at Greg while picking it! This was in 1981. A farm in Iowa too.http://www.gametec.com/hemp/hemp.mj.htmlthe above link I was reading, this will explain it more..also giving the history of how both marijuana and hemp became illegal.PS I believe your grandpa smoke the real deal, if he smoked hemp he would not have gotten a buzz at all. Back in those days, it was so bad to smoke pot. Greg's grandmother smoked it too, she had asthma and used it for that. Greg was a little boy then, he grandma would go into another room while Greg waited for her to come out, he smelled it. This was in the 60's. Marijuana for me has helped me greatly, through my muscle spasms, headaches, nausea, it is used for labor pain in child birth, cancer patients to increase appetite, constipation, toothaches, etc..Its a very misunderstood plant to say the least.
