I'm not the least bit surprised. This is nothing less than a political manuever

for the APA - in which it is trying to take autism and make it less than what it

is. If the APA, etc. was serious about autism issues, it would be doing things

to make things easier for people who have various forms of autism - not harder.

Rarely do changes not feel politically motivated in society. It's all about who

holds the most keys vs. who can create true change that affects people and

society for the better.

This is one of the reasons why GCA exists - to help make the lives of those with

high functioning autism more liveable in the greater Chattanooga, TN area.

It is interesting to hear Gradin's take on the whole DSM mess. More $$$$ for big pharma and a cost saving measure for schools. Not to mention adult Aspies will be totally hosed by the change. By either 1) not getting the correct diagnosis and 2) and having any " bothersome " symptoms punted off to the mental health.

Aspies who stim? If you are managing to boot strap your life along, I'm gue
