Guest guest
I have an acquaintance who is 36 and suffering from debilitating adenomyosis, equally debilitating migraines and hot flashes. She is convinced that she is estrogen dominant after reading dr Lee's book and her doctor is doing saliva testing which i'm assuming is likely to show estrogen dominance since, according to Vliet, it usually does despite low serum levels. Her doctor also thinks progesterone (not progestins) will help her condition. Vliet recently talked about a study which found that progesterone too can spur on the growth of fibroids, so i would imagine it would not be good for adenomyois either. Maybe I am wrong? How someone can be estrogen dominant and have hot flashes and migraines is beyond me. Vliet seems to think endometriosis/adenomyosis is triggered by dioxin exposure or other xenoestrogens. I'm tempted to tell her to get a hysterectomy (she doesnt want children) and get on some E. I gave her a copy of IMOS, so maybe she will change her mind about estrogen dominance. Anyone have any thoughts or knowledge about this subject - what really causes adenomyosis? christina
