Guest guest
Here is your Daily Feng Shui Tip by Ellen Whitehurst for Tuesday, August 24 Until the recent eruption of the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajokull, there were only a few volcanoes that any of us really even heard of before. There's Krakatoa east of Java, Mount St. Helens in Washington State, and, of course, Pele in Hawaii. But, the grandmother of all volcanoes is in Italy and today celebrates her energies. That's right and mama mia, today is dedicated to the Italian volcano Mount Vesuvius, the only volcano to have erupted on the European mainland in the last one hundred years before this latest Icelandic eruption. Vesuvius is located east of Naples and was once regarded by both Greeks and Romans as being sacred to the demi-god Hercules. If you're looking to perform your own superhuman feats of strength, then you may want to start by strengthening your Chi. In fact, Feng Shui says that each of us generates a type of Chi called 'jung' Chi which not only radiates from us but also forms pulsating energy fields that encircle and surround our bodies. Proper and intentional breathing can offer vitality and renewed life into this sort of Chi to adjust and elongate its movement through our physical meridians. Stand and place your feet shoulder width apart and turn your toes very slightly inward. Imagine a line running from the outside of your left toe all the way up to the tip of your right shoulder. Now do the same with your right foot and left shoulder. The triangles made by these two intersecting lines will meet at the crossing of the X in your lower abdomen. Take three deep breathes into the center of the X. Breathe deeply in through the nose and out through the mouth. Although this doesn't seem so Herculean, you simply won't believe how quickly it supports and strengthens your Chi!
