Guest guest
Dear Kerry, As you probably known ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a type of motor neurone disease. These are notoriously difficult to treat and I have never heard of treatments changing the course of the disease. I have treated a few people with motor neurone disease with Chinese medicine - acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine - and find that people feel better, they have more energy, get less chest infections and so forth. There seem to be differences in progression of the degeneration in different people although, as I said, I don't know that treatment can fundamentally alter this. Hawking, for example, has ALS and has survived over 40 years from diagnosis. Only 10% survive more than 10 years. One point is to check for tick-borne encephalitis which can mimic ALS. Also, toxins can cause related CNS problems particularly organophosphates. Hope this helps, Regards, Gascoigne Web: http://www.drgascoigne.com khackett wrote: > > Hello all, > > I would be grateful to hear any experiences anyone has had in the > treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Guest guest
Hi Kerry, I've not treated this condition, but do treat an elderly lady with motor neurone disease, which definitely seems to help her. (I use a varying combination of adaptogens, nervous trophorestoratives and circulatory support). (Hope all is well with you, maybe see you at conference?)
