Here is your Daily Feng Shui Tip by Ellen Whitehurst for Monday, August 30

I think that we need to give the kitty equal consideration, and today's 'National Holistic Pet Day' opens the cage to do just that. If you have a cat who likes to use dark wood in your home as a scratching post, put a bit of chili sauce on it and the smell of the spice will keep the cats away while the 'Fortune Mice' in your 'Wealth' area play. You need only to rub a little of the sauce on the wood and then buff it off in order to keep the cat at bay. If you have an older male cat who is experiencing urinary problems (it goes without saying that you should always consult your vet before beginning any new pet routine), the holistic way to treat this problem is to add one teaspoon of white vinegar to his water. This will help to prevent the formation of stones that could eventually cause all manner of urinary challenges and health problems. Likewise, a diet of low-ash cat food also helps this agenda. To keep your cat off the couch you can put mothballs between the pillows, although, if you ask me, no one else will want to sit there either. Lastly, if your cat comes home with a few scratches to show for his night of cattin' around the town, than clean any wounds with warm water first and then break a Vitamin E capsule and squeeze the oil into the affected area. Just add an extra bit more if kitty licks the oil off, as this can't hurt him and could actually help his health. As always, don't overfeed your pets and make sure they get some fresh air and exercise daily. I know, these tips are the cat's meow!
