Starting / Myoplex substitute?

Greetings. Today, I started the program. I'm enthusiastic about it and

hope I get the results most people say they are getting.

I do have a question about the Myoplex products. I got the 4 pack of

the Myoplex drink and will give it a try off the bat, but was

wondering if there are any viable substitutes for it? Its rather

expensive stuff and it was next to a lot of other drinks and shake

mixes. None seemed to have the exact same contents or

carb/fat/salt/portein makeups, but just wondered if anyone knows

anything else I can get in larger quantities/cheaper that will do the

same thing as the Myoplex...most of all, though I don't want anything

that does any damage.

Last, what about the nutrition bars? Can I substitute the slimfast

bars? Or anything else for that matter?

I'm trying to avoid the specialty food products and use other things

that do the same thing, preferable something I cam make at home.

Thanks for all your help.

There are other options, but not necessarily cheaper. Your best bet

would be to make your own with protein powder. I use the Optimum

Nutrition Natural Whey Protein.

You can experiment, but some good things to add to the protein powder

are yogurt, cottage cheese fruit, peanut butter, etc. Then add water

to the desired consistency.

I haven't seen any Slim Fast bars that are decent. Usually, they are

too high in sugar. I use bars sparingly, but generally use the South

Beach bars. Otherwise, try whole foods like String Cheese and Apple

or Cottage Cheese and Yogurt.
