I know we've talked about regular exercise to bring the blood sugar down. However, in view of the fact that new members join all the time, I think it bears repeating. The talk tends to pretty much center on diet, and while that's certainly of paramount importance, regular exercise is also very important. Not only does it bring the blood sugar down, but it helps with the circulation, and maybe most importantly, it releases those endorphins to help us feel good mentally.

I haven't been as good as I should about doing my exercise lately, but I'm trying to get back on track. My husband and I like to take long walks on the week-end at the nearby nature center. The good thing about that is, it's easier on the feet and joints than walking on hard cement. Also, the walking tracks at the Y and health clubs have some kind of cushioning in them, I think... much easier on the joints. Swimming is great too, but I find walking easier to do, and if it's easier, then I'm probably more likely to do it :-) I'd be interested in hearing what the rest of you do.... tai chi? yoga? dance? kick boxing??
