Schizandra chinenisis given in the 2 weeks or so before expected date of delivery helps with natural labour and reduces the risk of complications. Hello all, I have been asked by a doula (I have given talks to her pre-natal groups in the past) for help with one of her ladies. She had a previously very traumatic first birth, ending in a caesarian and a post-partum haemorrhage. She's having a home birth this time round, with the doula assisting - but she is worried about haemorrhaging again. They wanted to ask about specific herbs for prevention - but will come for a full appointment to see how herbs can help. Does anyone have experience of this? I am particularly concerned about how to time any herbs given, as I feel strong astringents will affect the delivery if given too early. Thank you,
Guest guest
Hi Again It has always been part of the list rules that individual patient cases should only be discussed 1. with the patient's consent and 2. no details that could possibly reveal the identy of the patient are revealed. Obviously no problem with more general queries e.g. how would you treat PCOS? CheersGraham White, B.Sc. (Herb.
