Hi all,

I've had a rough start to the new year. My wife's mother died January

1 and the event, though anticipated because of her long-declining

health, has made some difficult days for me and others in our family.

I am back at the gym since the funeral, and I'm hoping that time, along

with loving support of family will help me get " re-oriented " . I've set

a more demanding bodyfat loss goal for the first Sunday in April. My

current " average " bf, from 9 different methods of calculation is about

14%. I want to be below 10% on every calculator I can find, which

should put my average bf down around 6-8%. I plan to be more rigorous

about my " indulgences " with food and also to add more cardio and

walking to my regimen.

Bruce,

I am sorry to hear of the death in your family. These crises in our home life

can sometimes throw us off course.

I am encouraged to hear you were able to jump right back in the BFL program. I

too have had a number of addtional family losses (my dad, (2) cousins, my best

man's sister & a BFL friend that once helped me when I was struggling with my

daughter's death) and I have not been able to spin back up the way I had hoped I

would.

I keep making false starts and I have improved my eating habits, but, I can't

honestly say I am back on the BFL wagon, YET!.

I still have some business issues to catch up with, some tax issues to deal

with, some other family medical items to address, the repair and sale of my old

home, and then, of course, the completion of the move into my new home, and THEN

I think I can be 100% back on track.

Gee... As I wrote that prior paragraph, it reminds me of all the excuses I used

to use to not work out at all. I think that may scare me into jumping in and

just doing it! ...Otherwise, I may gain the other 100 pounds of fat back and be

in the same starting position I was more than 4 years ago!

Gheesh! This writing stuff is GREAT therapy. ...Don't you think? :)

Happy BFL'ing,

Remember... Progress, not perfection!

Bruce,

Sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. It sounds like you have a

goal and a nice plan to get back on track.
