Guest guest
Looks OK to me. I would add some kidney beans to the mix. If you are trying to determine how many carbs/proteins you need, here is a guide you can go by: http://www.bodyforlife.com/exercise/calcalc.asp Perhaps you gained weight because your eating has changed. Your digestive system could be making an adjustment and that could possible be waste (yuck!). Also, please watch your portion sizes. I try not to get too scientific as it can become VERY complicated. But, if changes aren't being seen (weight, loss of bodyfat, etc.), then you have to get to the bottom of the problem. ~ wrote: This is my third day on the Body for Life program and I have read a few places that Vegetarians have trouble on the diet because they take in too many carbs. Here is what I have been eating, any comments on what changes I need to make would be appreciated: Meals: 1. Egg Substitute, whole wheat bagel, tomato 2. Myoplex shake with strawberries 3. Low Fat cottage cheese and green apple 4. Whole wheat bread with soy veggie burger and spinach 5. Baked Potato with Broccoli and soy cheese 6. Brown Rice, shrimp and peas I can eat fish but try to stay away from it. Is there anyway to measure if I am getting too many carbs? I added up my protein for yesterday and it was 140 grams and I weigh 160. Before I started Body for Life I had done weight watchers for a number of years and had lost a ton of weight but always gained it back. Since I started 3 days ago I have gained 3 lbs, is this because I am eating so much more on this program? Any suggestions? Thanks!
Guest guest
, I was thinking it was my portion sizes too so I measured everything I ate and counted every calorie I put in my mouth the last two days and it put me right at 1500 calories on both days and when I calculated the amount of calories I should eat on the link you gave me it said I should be consuming 1600! So with that I think my portion sizes are correct. I figure I will give it a full week and hope that at least I go back down to my starting weight. I am definately not used to eating this much, I was probably eating around 1000 calories a day before I started Body for Life. ~L To: bodyforlife From: mrbriankf@... Guest guest
I'm guessing the weight you have gained is not fat. It's probably an increase in retention of water due to the extra food you are eating. I'd give it 2 weeks to work itself out and drink plenty of water.
