Guest guest
You can heat your cast iron or teflon pan to high heat and just lay the tortilla on the surface till it begins to " swell " ...keep a close eye on it so that it doesn't burn. If you have a good non stick surface you shouldn't need any oil to accomplish this. Sounds like a yummy lunch recipe..I'd just add some hot salsa or pico de gallo... How do I soften the tortilla? Do I put them in the oven or microwave? I want to make a burrito like they do at Chipotle. Thank You.

Guest guest
One last suggestion...they steam them at Chipotle and that's what I do. Get a set of bamboo steamers (you can get them for a song) and put a few in the steamers over some boiling water. Sometimes, I will spray a little anti-stick spray on each tortilla to keep them from sticking together. Simple and it works great. > > Hello Group, > > I am concocting a simple recipe in my head that consists of whole grain tortilla, rice, black beans, and chicken flavored tofu, with some type of sauce. Guest guest
Thank you all for your responses. This really helps. Of course I have no idea of what you mean by getting them for a song. > > > > Hello Group, > > > > I am concocting a simple recipe in my head that consists of whole > grain tortilla, rice, black beans, and chicken flavored tofu, with > some type of sauce. Guest guest
Old saying meaning they are very cheap. You can pick them up a lot of places for a few bucks. > > > > > > Hello Group, > > > > > > I am concocting a simple recipe in my head that consists of whole > > grain tortilla, rice, black beans, and chicken flavored tofu, with > > some type of sauce.
