Eating Times

I am trying to loose fat on this program and get slightly toned. This

is week 2 for me and I am feeling good. The only part of the program

that I am still a bit unsure on is if I should eat before I lift. I

get up at 5:30 am to do my work outs every morning. I don't eat

before I go on any day, but I am getting mixed responses on if I

should eat on my lifting days before I hit the gym. Whats the rule of

thumb for this?

Thanks,

Good morning ...it all depends on what is stored in your liver and muscles

from the food you ate the day before. If you have adequate glycogen stored in

the muscles and liver you will be able to endure a good workout. If not, you may

experience a lowering of your blood sugar which will cause you to feel light

headed and you may not be able to continue your workout. This stuff is all a

matter of trial and error and each individual will have a different experience.

I like to do my cardio at 6am..I rise at 5am. I usually do my weight lifting

after breakfast around 9 or 10. I eat lunch at 1...a snack at 3 and dinner

before 6pm..and then I stop eating and only drink herbal tea or water . I've

been following this regimine for 20 yrs and continue to maintain a good healthy

physique...with bodyfat at around 18 to 20%....

Good luck and keep working out.
